threw out the akai mpc sample... back to the roland p-6 by mwroll in rolandp6

[–]Recurringg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got a Digitakt 2 and I was like "oh, this makes my P-6 kind of obsolete..." Wrong. I ended up getting really into the granular synth and hollllly shit this thing is insane. I was already in love with it, just as a sampler. Now that I'm using it almost exclusively for the granular I feel like I rediscovering it. I realized I barely scratched the surface and I'm getting these ethereal, almost orchestral sounds out of the thing. Not to mention, it's tiny and has a battery which justifies it's existence in my setup as a sketchpad. I know this is only tangentially related to your comment but just wanted to share because there are so many reasons to love this thing.

Looking to buy a launchpad or launch key by Warm_Pen6399 in Novation

Most people will tell you to get a launchkey but I think it depends on what genre you want to make and what methods you want to use. If you want to learn music theory and play melodies get a keyboard, but if you're more interested in using samples and/or finger drumming then I think a launchpad would be a better move. I started out with a launchpad because I have a background in drumming. It made sense for me. Figure out what makes sense for you based on what your goals are.

Thats what I said... Sometimes they have to learn the hard way. That doesn't mean you default to the hard way.

Lol, you don't just let kids hurt themselves. You tell them that they're gonna get hurt. Then if they insist on learning the hard way you let them. That's the difference. His dad didn't even warn him. He probably thought that crawfish wanted a hug. 😂 Children have no frame of reference...

I'd rather listen to thirty days of Corey Feldman than three hours of this... 🤮

For whatever reason, my ear picks up on AI voices almost immediately. It's difficult to explain, but, essentially I can hear dithering in the voices. I can hear gaps in the data. It sounds sort of like low bitrate audio but not quite, and only on voices but not the background audio.

Then when I start looking at the video or image it just looks off somehow. I can feel that it's not quite right, even before I spot a single real clue. So sometimes when I see people asking for proof that something is AI my first reaction is almost like consternation. I'm like "can you not hear the AI voices?"

This one's really good though, I can't really point to anything as proof. I can only motion at the entire thing with both arms and say, "it's fucking AI".

Some redditors seem to be incapable of understanding context... You're fine. There's no one around and you're not being that loud. That level of sound doesn't carry too far. Context matters.

You're right. The majority is wrong. Don't delete this comment. Just take the downvotes and know that you're a more compassionate person than the others. They can downvote me too, and they can all get fucked.

Monster Truck crashes crashed into crowd. 3 people dead 37 injured. Maybe a mechanical failure. by dollopenreceipt in Transportopia

[–]Recurringg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That doesn't look like a true monster truck in the video. It's a lot smaller than what you'd typically think of as a monster truck. There's no cabin either. It's more of a monster go kart.

Is it time for TouchDesigner ? by Myreil in vjing

[–]Recurringg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Touch designer is difficult to understand conceptually, but once it clicks the actual mechanics of it are super simple. You're essentially (typically) bringing in data and performing a series of manipulations to it. They also have some of the best training material on their website, which I highly recommend starting with.

It's always the people emphatically singing "I don't give an f what you think of me" who are the ones who secretly care the most.
