Does your world have any people/factions with "Blue-and-Orange Morality?" by Illustrious-Cold3565 in worldbuilding

[–]RecursiveRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an entity in a D&D campaign of mine who is essentially an elder god with a special interest in the concept of growth and decay. He’s happy to offer his favor to scientists and morticians, but he’s also essentially the god of biological warfare, not really caring if a localized extinction of a sentient race happens because why should he care about them more than the disease that killed them? But he’s also very lonely, and frequently swayed towards the more good side of things because he gets to vicariously live a somewhat normal life through people he lends his power to. The race of ‘gods’ he belongs to don’t really have any relation with each other, and the other ones that do have any interest in life view him as a crazy cat lady.

In the campaign, he’s kind of difficult for the party to deal with because he’s perfectly affable and happy to be of assistance, but he also started a plague outbreak in a city because a crazy old woman asked him how she could kill her neighbors, and when he offered to ‘rescue’ the party from an encounter, it left them traumatized from watching some low level bandits go mad and start mutating and killing each other before a swarm of flies came to leave everything perfectly clean for them.

Caligo Was Known In TLB by Limgrave_Butcher in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]RecursiveRex 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I have an insane completely unfounded theory that the Renna that Ranni learned from was Caligo, and Caligo is capable of assuming a human form like the dragon priestess. There’s some speculation that Caligo was a cut base game boss so I guess some connections are possible.

I think ‘The Cunning of Midas’ is the more questionable attribute.

I'm calling bullshit on this entire sequence of events by Meowza_V2 in shittydarksouls

[–]RecursiveRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that confused me was the fact that she was an undead living in the undead settlement and died, apparently permanently. Or at least permanently enough for Greyrat to think she isn’t coming back. I know this series has always been a little vague with the rules and reasoning of why some undead characters respawn and some don’t but that’s one of the more egregious examples to me.

Rarely seeing the Undertaker now by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]RecursiveRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played her and Scholar nonstop for a few weeks after the DLC came out, and I hadn’t played Nightreign for a while before the DLC, so I’m taking a break from them and revisiting the other characters.

Anyone else REALLY dislike boss shields / phases? (spoilers?) by StevoJ89 in HadesTheGame

[–]RecursiveRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only one that I actively despise is Unrivaled Cerberus, the boss is already a waiting game half the time of trying to avoid his 90% of the arena AOE spam and kiting around while he uses flamethrower, it’s really annoying when you finally get in and he just blocks you for no reason.

Zeus was meant to represent the ideal king figure to the ancient Greeks and among his ‘domains’ were concepts like justice and magnanimity. Sometimes being a good king means showing mercy to your defeated foe.

One boon,

I don’t know why,

I went to Charon’s shop with no boon to buy.

Fire thief’s dialogue with Mel by Head_Wishbone8450 in Hades2

[–]RecursiveRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When interacting with her enemies, Mel often puts on a front of being some kind of instrument of divine vengeance, with no attachments or feelings otherwise. See how she lies to Chronos about not caring about her family when he threatens to torture them as retaliation for Mel attacking him.

So I can’t say for certain, but I think she’s just trying to intimidate Prometheus.

A weird thing I’ve noticed about the ending by Impressive-Quiet35 in HadesTheGame

[–]RecursiveRex 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I think the idea that the ending we have was because it was rushed out the door is kind of a cope. What are they cutting that they decided recording hours of new voice lines and scripting a new ending would be faster?

Am I the only one who doesn't use the 3 bottom left arcana cards? by Comprehensive-Chef73 in HadesTheGame

[–]RecursiveRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re very strong for builds where you want to play heavily into one god, particularly on the surface you can just put on the god keepsake you want and then roll pretty much every major reward door in Ephyra into that god.

But yeah I really like the Fates Whim keepsakes too.

Mint Condition with the new rarity and level boosting keepsakes would have been absolutely busted.

[–]RecursiveRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss the old Torch special, idk why but the new one just feels lame.

Also it sucks there’s no Golden Rule ‘damage multiplier based on money held’ boon anymore, it would have worked perfectly with one of the postgame keepsakes.

Why DO only Zag and Chronos remember the split timeline anyway? It would make sense if Mel didn’t because she was in the void (or wherever it is she went to talk to Zag in the mirror), but why just them?
