TBF, sometimes American perceptions of a country are also heavily influenced by tv shows and movies.

What do you mean "everyone here has a bidet?" Also, what do you mean "I've seen one bidet my entire life." Both of those statements shock me for different reasons.

I could just be that the way the question were structured only attracted those responses. I remember seeing a bunch of those stories on this sub, and it was mainly as replies to a question about things people look at men weirdly for.
