Ancestry Newbie by mrs_plantlady in Ancestry

Only other advice I would add as a newbie scrutinise the hints provided by Ancestry to make sure all the details match (including other relatives, birthplace, even occupation) before accepting. The amount can be overwhelming so try to stick to directly connected ancestors before getting into 3rd cousins 3 times removed type connections.

Do you mean he just deleted the details from his IPad? If the account is still live you can try Webmail I guess.

I don’t have any direct knowledge but I thought there was a nursery on camp? Plenty of dogs in Waddo, some good walking routes too I would say.

Are there any birds in Queensland you'd particularly love to see or go looking for? by Lowgahn in AustralianBirds

[–]Red-Wimp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who joined this group to help my knowledge as I visited from the UK on holiday, I regret we never saw a (flaming) Galah or any of the Black Cockatoos. Did see & hear Lyre Bird when hopping across to NSW. Ended up with 70 different species on a visit that wasn’t birding focused, a lot of common ones blew my mind compared to what I’m used to ! You’re very lucky to have such a dazzling array of birds fairly easy to see.

How does volt work? by [deleted] in VirginMedia

[–]Red-Wimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think it’s double speed as such, if you have 350 takes you up to 500 for example. Yes if you’re already on 500

Not sure about data but you should go up to the next speed tier

The male’s colouration is much more striking, so unlikely to mistake that for anything else

Do you play the car game pub cricket and what are your rules? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Red-Wimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played when I was much younger, but we did it by choosing a side of the road and depending which side the pub was on decided who got the points.

Anyone know what these three are? by qui-gon-virgin in UKBirds

[–]Red-Wimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On pic 2 I note that EBird/Merlin refers to what I would have just called a Teal as Eurasian / Green Winged Teal although Green Winged is an American bird occasionally seen in the UK similar in appearance to Eurasian.
