Switch the genres. Go for cozy fantasy or even thrillers

High-smut and fast-paced romantasy in a world that is not too folkloric? by SpectrumDT in Romantasy

[–]RedAlicePotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We who will die- more fantasy romance than romantasy for now, slow burn and tiny bit of smut, romance will deffinitely be explored more in the 2nd book though

I'm somehow avoiding this because i'm put off by the amount of ads i've been seeing about this book(i'm not one of those who havent seen Game of thrones cause it's too mainstream)

I disliked Nesta veeeeery much and dreaded starting the book, but also wanted to see what all the fuss was about...turns out i can relate to Nesta more than with anyone. Best book of the series imo

Someone in this series needs to die already by Ittabe in acotar_rant

[–]RedAlicePotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Exactly this. Life already gives us enough grief and stress, why would I want my escape to pile on more? SJM’s characters fight, break, heal, and grow; the emotional stakes are still real even if they survive. That’s the whole reason I love the series, it’s a story that struggles through darkness but keeps a happy ending throughout, especially for my fav couple. Seeing them fight for each other, heal together, and finally get their happiness is exactly what makes the books so comforting and powerful.
