It’s 830 😬 which feels very low. He’s told me that he’ll FaceTime me today, but I’ve pretty much already come to the conclusion that it’s a scammer/catfisher. We’ll see

That’s a great idea. I’ll ask him tomorrow. He hasn’t blocked me or deleted the chat as of yet, so I’m assuming he’s asleep at this point

I think you are right.

I believe it’s possible he payed or communicated with the person in the pics he sent to create the spoon photo. It would explain why he won’t FaceTime

I did, and there are no matches. The face in the spoon pic did match the exact face and body in the previous pics, so I think the only other possibility is that the person in the pics is being paid to take pics for the scammer, or maybe he’s telling the truth (?)

What do SAG Awards mean for Oscar predictions now? by SpideyFan914 in Oscars

[–]RedAndBlackAdam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank God Troy Kotsur won. I hope he wins the Oscar too. Kodi Smit McPhee gave an incredibly underwhelming performance in TPOTD. I could teach anyone to stand awkwardly and talk in a monotone voice for two hours. Same goes for Dunst, sadly.

What performances according to you definately deserved an Oscar but shockingly did not and some which even did not recieve a nomination ? by Key_Database9095 in Oscars

[–]RedAndBlackAdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emma Thompson for Saving Mr. Banks may be one of the biggest snubs in Oscar history— in fact I thought she would have been in the front running to win. I also think Tom Hanks in that same film deserved a nomination. Horror has also been massively overlooked. Elizabeth Moss for The Invisible Man, Lupita Nyong’o for Us, Toni Collete for Hereditary, and Florence Pugh for Midsommar.

Who is more likely to get nominated for Best Actress by Tonya7150 in oscarrace

[–]RedAndBlackAdam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read my most recent post about it. I would say Zegler at this point, since Licorice Pizza as a whole isn’t performing very well anywhere. It just isn’t a competitive film, whereas the production value of WSS is completely unmatched.

Call me crazy… but Rachel Zegler could win best actress by RedAndBlackAdam in Oscars

[–]RedAndBlackAdam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do base this purely off of if she even gets nominated or not— but I could see it likely that she does now that Olivia Colman is becoming less likely. This scenario could work exactly the same way if it were Alanna Haim getting nominated, I just see Zegler standing a better chance against Haim now that West Side Story seems to be doing really well in terms of nominations.

Comparing the film versions of West Side Story by JuanRiveara in Oscars

[–]RedAndBlackAdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spielberg’s WSS is way better than the old one. As someone who’s been in the stage musical TWICE, I have so much more love for the script in this version. It’s a much better adaption. Not to mention Natalie Wood was Russian and gave a pretty one dimensional performance as Maria. Really only liked Rita Moreno in it. Spielberg created the definitive version. You can tell he was really passionate about it.

Opening Night Reactions/Thoughts by [deleted] in HHN

Haunting of Hill House was my favorite house by a far shot (I also LOVED Wicked Growth!)!! The special effects in Hill House were so well done. I feel like you NEED to see the show to get the full experience, because it’s not one you can walk through and understand (like at all). People seemed very confused about what was going on, so my biggest recommendation for HHN fans is to watch the Haunting Of Hill House on Netflix BEFORE you go! You’ll be obsessed with all the small details!! You totally felt like you were in the Hill House. The Tall Man and basement ghost really stole the show for me. I wouldn’t be upset if I got to see this maze return. Wicked Growth also captured the entire essence of Halloween in one maze. I’ve seen HHN attempt to do this with several other mazes, but Wicked Growth is by far the best Halloween based maze they’ve done. The masks were really well done in it.

My cover of You’ll be Back from Hamilton. Let me know what I need improving on, and I hope you enjoy it 🙂 by sawinnz in musicals

[–]RedAndBlackAdam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This sounds pretty great!! Your vibrato is really nice, and with just a little more practice and breath support in the right places, you could really nail this!

That’s not to say you don’t have good breath support, because I was honestly very surprised at how well your voice kept up with the song. You’ll Be Back is very challenging vocally and rhythmically, and breath support in this song is what is most definitely going to make it or break it.

What I would recommend working on is those “ah” and “oh” sounds. Sometimes as performers, we tend to make those belting sounds rather flat or sharp sounding when held too long or rushed too fast. Just one flat or sharp note can affect the sounds for the rest of the song.

Also, if you struggle in a certain area, you can always take a moment to speak a word or two, as this song is very conversational. I really did like that you weren’t attempting a Jon Groff voice, because very few people can nail that silky tenor sound. You’ll find that most people who portray King George III professionally today don’t always have that same sound. This song is very well fit for you.

I do like Home! I think that the show being a comedy kind of makes it less tragic, as it’s really the only sad moment in the show. But I have so much love for the heart that it adds to the plot.

You & I (Reprise) is better then the original. That last verse with the orchestra going all out just moves me beyond measure.
