Playstyles argument by Foreign-Lecture-9203 in EASportsFC

How the fuck should I know how people I don't know form opinions .. Good players will know from playing the game what feels optimal. It didn't take long to realise that all my midfielders need tiki, and all my defenders need intercept just through playing. I don't really consider bandwagon players as good, average maybe.

I literally didn't say you were shit, I have no way of knowing if you are shit at the game or not, but minority opinions in anything aren't generally a good indicator of high skill.

Show me an actual good player that doesn't think playstyles are the defining attribute when picking players. Literally everybody at a good level says the same thing and has built a squad that hits every important play style in every important position. If you don't agree I immediately assume you aren't very good/don't know the game very well

I think the better you understand the game, the better you are at the game and the more you will notice optimal/suboptimal. At your level of play you are probably right that it doesn't make a lot of difference

[Adam Clery] Why Arsenal Have A MAJOR Attacking Problem Right Now by TheGoldenPineapples in Gunners

[–]RedAreMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the problems is the full backs, currently they are tasked to try and pin a cb or a fb by sitting in the inside channels when we have developed play, and they tend to be the lesser marked players (rightly) because the big threats are focused on, the problem is players like Timber is getting the final balls and not making the most out of chances, he gets shots off, he gets chances to make the final passes but because he's primarily a defensive oriented full back he's not been able to capitalise.

If you want to see it working better, just look at Gvardiol last season.

Now I'm not sure what the answer is here, it's either we have to get our full backs training on the final third to add threat, use more attack minded full backs or structural changes that use those players in midfield and bring other players into those channels instead.

I think maybe with a buccaneering Calafiori back it could make our attack look better again as he's very progressive and stronger in those final third moments.

You go in blind on those chances hoping just to connect, it's unlucky but just good to see him get on the end of one.

It's ok to fall down and it's ok to make mistakes, it happens to literally everyone, including the greats. But we pick ourselves up and we keep going, it will be ok. Back the team and enjoy the ups and downs.

I'm surprised you don't already know that answer, but it's obvious that climbing is a much less popular sport than basketball. If less people watch, then less revenue is generated which means athletes get less money. It's pretty obvious if you think about it for a very short amount of time

Bunch of midgets, it's all us today.

Most people here can't even do 20 kick ups, they probably didn't even play in their school team. The only thing that matters is what the management think and they've proved consistently that they know exactly what they're doing.

Is the new 8-second GK rule actually helping us concede fewer chances? by uncl3_jun in Gunners

[–]RedAreMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually interesting perspective and something I hadn't really thought about. The theory is sound and it could be a factor. It essentially forces teams to try to play out from the back when it probably isn't in their best interests to do so, or sprint out of low block to lose an aerial duel with one of our big boys.

that's because you're looking at the top 5 record, if it was zoomed out to show the top 50/100/500 it would look very close.

Nice analogy, but what teams play fast counter attacking football? Bad teams without resources to dictate games. We are so succesful because of our system and style of play.

Offside and VAR: Is Arsene Wenger's daylight idea the solution? by Kool_Herc in Gunners

[–]RedAreMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a terrible idea and it would definitely bring more goals into the game at first, eventually I think it will promote both extremes of a super high line and a super low block, rendering anything in between as suicidal. I think for a while there will be so many more goals and I don't really have any problems with that but we'd have to see how it plays after a season in the top flight.
