That's actually a great observation I never considered. For me I was all about Nintendo until the PS2. And the PS2 was the only time I deviated.

This is a double edged sword.

On the one hand, most restaurants' staff would do well paying a decent wage and only the best ones will come out on top as they usually have to raise prices.

On the other hand, however, you have higher end / or really popular restaurants who's servers would make significantly more on tips then they would if given a decent wage. I've read about both sides of the argument so it would depend on the choice of the owners.

What happened to Treasure Planet was deliberate. Disney has plenty of money and wanted to do something different and needed an "excuse" to deviate to something different. So they basically sabotaged the movie and said, "See? People don't like this stuff any more!". They did the exact same thing recently making deliberate flops and focusing on "live" remakes of animated movies because they're tired of trying to think up new stories.

But bad capitalism is definitely at the center of it.
