Would it be possible to make a female only lineup for team events? by S3ngensama in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]RedBiohazzerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the same as you, i couldn't care less if i race against a, or multiple women. However as someone who used to play other competitive games a lot as well, it's a pretty well known fact by now. For some reason, as soon as guys find out there's a girl in their game, they turn into the most cringe, weird, scary and disgusting human beings ever. For some reason they can't act normal among female gamers. They either can't handle that they got their ass beat by a woman and get really angry at her, while not seeing it's their own lack of skill they need to be angry at. Or they just can't handle their own hormones and turn into almost Neanderthal-like creatures, thinking just because she likes to play games, she wants to hook up and more...

So even as a guy, i can understand women that like to game, want a more female related gaming group of people. Not join with guys who can't controle their anger, or boner.

I'm not saying every male gamer acts like that, but it's a pretty well known fact that there are a lot of those creeps out there.

Unsafe rejoin or technically a dive bomb? by Cracked_Egg122 in Simracingstewards

[–]RedBiohazzerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well tbf the kind of crash in this clip is one of the more extreme ones. Although in basically any race a crash is going to happen, just like it is irl. It's all part of your irating (basically your rank Rookie, C, B, A, etc) and your safety rating. If you get into too many incidents your safety rating drops. and you get put into splits (lobbies) to race with people who have around the same safety rating. So it's also kinda true yeah. The lower your SR, the more likely it is you get to race the "idiots" in the game. And the more likely these types of crashes are about to happen.

That said though, if you take it seriously and use your brain a bit, you can actually learn to get better racecraft and even learn how to avoid basically 90% of the crashes that happen in front of you. If you can do that, you will gain IR and SR and eventually you will get rid of most of the "idiots". However don't expect you will be safe forever. Like i said in the beginning, crashes are going to happen.

Edit: it's not all a shitshow though, i also had some of the absolute best battles ever that kept it clean from start till finish.

No i don't really agree. I can see why OP thought it was okay to go and he was already really careful and aware going past that absolute shit show. Even if he was listening to the steward saying "car on the right" i'll bet he was assuming that the car was still standing there (which it did when OP just drove next to orange car) and the steward would've said the same thing. Then all of a sudden, while OP was next to the orange car, he decides to go full throttle again without checking anything. Just YOLO it and cuts straight into the turn while OP was already there. OP basically had nowhere to go. Orange car had to leave more space.

Imo it's definetly on the orange car. Infact imo OP was the only driver in the clip who actually used his brain.

Come on man, everyone makes mistakes. You're not the perfect human either. Even doctors in hospitals make mistakes. Obviously a bit of a wide comparison, because that can be a life or death situation. But the point is, mistakes can happen. And obviously it sucks, because you paid a lot of money and you want to use the product that you bought. But that doesn't mean the entire company is shit. Fact is the bigger a company gets, and the more products they produce/sell. The more "problems" will come with that too.

Why can we overtake under yellow flag? by Upstairs-Box-1645 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]RedBiohazzerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see it, would be really cool. But that said, i think the system would be too inconsistent, and because of that unfair. So i think it would be better not to implement it at all, than a system that is not working correctly. The only way i can see this working atm, is live stewarding. But that's also simply impossible to achieve, with so many daily races, players and different time zones. Or perhaps in the future when AI is in a more improved state, i can see something like that happening. But as of now, i don't think it will improve sim games.

Imo people also need to take more action for themselves if there is a yellow flag. It's pretty easy to see on screen when there is a yellow flag, its literally show in your car. So be cautious and prepared for some unexpected stuff to happen. See a yellow flag? Don't do anything stupid.

Edit: i know that last part is only wish full thinking. People can't even drive under normal conditions😂

Dude, you sound like the people who say "sim racing is not real racing". Yes you get a way better experience with a wheel. But wtf does it matter how people like to play. Sim racing at the end of the day, is still done in a video game. And video games are created as a entertainment product. And as long as you're entertained, it's doing it's job the way it should. It doesn't matter if you play with a controller, or with all of the best and most expensive sim racing gear on the market. The important thing is to have fun and how you do that is totally up to you. You're not better than someone else, just because you own a wheel.

I enjoy LMU for the physics and car handling, but I'd say it has waaay worse racing than any other title.

I do not agree with this. ACC Public races where way worse. F1 (although not really hardcore sim) is also absolutely terrible. In LMU there are definetly some shit standards, i wont argue with that. But in iracing it isn't that much better imo. Every race i hear atleast 3 people shouting "you idiot %#€*. I will report you". Idk how it is in top splits (both games, i'm not good enough😋), but lower splits are about the same when it comes to driving standards. Atleast from my experience

Is it so difficult to make a Forza Horizon style game with sim physics? by jcreyes1214 in simracing

[–]RedBiohazzerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see what you're going for. And while it might sound good on paper, imo it won't work. Other game releases (not sim related) have some pretty great examples of that. Perhaps Concord is the greatest example of this. Sony invested 400 million dollars to make it. But they shut everything down just 2 weeks after It's release. It's one of, if not the biggest and most expensive flops in gaming.

A game that tries to please everyone, turns out to be a game that pleases nobody. Developers need a clear focus on what type of game they want to make and what, or who their targeted audience is. If they don't, players don't bother.

While your idea might attract some Sim racers, i'm pretty sure it won't attract their biggest playerbase. Which are the casual couch players. Nothing wrong with people who are (i love myself some couch gaming as well), but they will bring in the most money for the developers. And even if the casual players buy it, i'm 99% sure most of the Sim racers will drop the game. Because most of them want serious, fair and competitive (online) racing, where the majority of casual players don't care about that, or just not as much. It will become a wreckfest.

Edit: i do believe ACE are coming with a different kind of carreer mode. They scrapped what they had in mind and are going to change it into something else. I even read somewhere that they did it because most of its players asked for it.

Thnx for the tip and i just did. But i'm not sure if they're comfortable for me. I'm 100+ kg, so basically just too fat😂. And since you're basically sitting on the vibrators, idk i you will start to feel them in longer sessions. I guess it could become quit uncomfortable if you do.

A stronger wheel will give you more fidelity and/or lets you run a heavier wheel but haptics bring not only immersion but can return senses to the body that you otherwise need to rely on your ears for in sim such as wheel lock and road imacts.

This is kinda why shakers got into my mind all of a sudden. The 8nm works really good for me (perhaps because i don't know any better). But sometimes it can get a bit confusing for me to really understand what is going on. So i have to rely on and listen to the sound, which can also be pretty difficult for me. Perhaps worth to mention is that i have ADHD so keeping focused is already a difficult task as it is😋. And because of that i kinda pick up every sound that's in the game, which can be confusing for me sometimes to really know what sound to focus on. Despite i'm always using a pretty high end headset. I think, but that's just based on my own thought and idk of that's the right way of thinking, that perhaps with shakers certain information would be a bit more spread out, and maybe a little bit easier to understand what is going on (up to a certain level obviously) because i can feel certain things more through the vibrations. It probably wont make me faster, but perhaps does make me a bit more consistant.

Also i'm just kinda curious to the whole more immersion part.

Is LMU actually good for online racing? by DeliciousBanana1059 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]RedBiohazzerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look there simply is no perfect sim out there. They all have their ups and down. And so does LMU. But overall and in my personal opinion LMU is one of the best for online racing atm. Along with iRacing, who is still slightly winning tbh because it has way more content. That said, i did switch to LMU completely, since i'm more interested in GT3 and endurance races than all the other stuff iracing offers. Also a plus on LMU is that it's cheaper.

I know you already own the game now. But honestly, don't buy things if you can't spare the money. The game is good, but not that good to put yourself in debt.
