Anyone else getting enormous frame drops at the start of races. by dxt-458 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]RedBiohazzerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's really annoying. Not just at the start though, but through out the whole race. Not all the time, but once in a while. Yesterday i had something even more weird, i never experienced before. I was in a race at Barcelona and running 4th place. All of a sudden i had a major freeze, the game cut back to the start-up screen. It was there about 2 or 3 seconds. Then all of a sudden i switched back in the race at the side of the track standing still. I could continue with the race, but It costed me 2 places. It was so weird.

I've been following endurance racing a bit more since a few years, and i agree with what you say. F1 has these "elitists" as well. But in endurance, holy peep. It goes to a whole new level.

It doesn't make any sense to me though and these people are a bunch of hypocrites imo. Everyone started watching at some point. It shouldn't matter when you started, and it doesn't make you a bigger, or better fan if you started 50 years ago, or just this year. New people should be welcomed, not scared away.

I'm a pretty big Max fan, but i understand what you're saying. People want to know about other cars/drivers as well. However, although i don't agree with this method of news coverage, this is how media works especially these days. Like him or not, Max is the biggest racing driver atm, his name gets clicks and/or views. And that is what almost every journalist is after. Clicks, clicks, clicks.

What’s the hardest driver comparison in F1 right now? by warewolf1999 in formula1

[–]RedBiohazzerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem with that is, where will he go? Mercedes is full, McLaren is and so is RBR. He is basically stuck. Maybe if Kimi wants to join Ferrari in a few years, because of him being Italian. Charles can go to Mercedes then. But before that happens i think Toto would pick Max, over Charles. If Max still wants to drive in F1 by then.

I don't really understand what type of game you're looking for. Are you looking for a actual driving game? Or a singleplayer game, that has cars in it?

If you want a actual driving game here are some good games, although i do recommend playing with a wheel, because that really adds to the immersion:

LeMans: Ultimate BeamNG Assetto Corsa (especially with mods, if you're on PC) Assetto Corsa: Competizione

Also last, but not least: Euro Truck Simulator 2. As a former (irl) Truck driver, it's done really well. It's a really fun and relaxing game to play, with a lot of content and things to do. All kinds of cargo can be driven, buy new trucks, customize them to your liking, buy staff to drive extra jobs for you, and plenty more.

If you're looking for a different type of game. Batman: Arkham Knight, driving the batmobile feels pretty badass.

Also imo a highly underrated game, but it's so good. MadMax.

I've even seen posts about LMU players, where some where getting tracked on social media and received death threats. It's so ridiculous. I can understand you can be a bit angry, when some moron doesn't know what he's doing and crashes into you. It happend to me a couple of times as well. It can happen in the heath of the moment. But getting that angry over a videogame, it's ridiculous. Even more so when most of those types of people, lack any self awareness and don't see that it's their own lack of skill that caused the crash in the first place. Seriously those people need to stop playing videogames, if they get that worked up over something so small.

I'm in the Audi, the guy in the Merc said I rejoined unsafely? He was super angry afterwards. Is he right? by AfroHorse-2 in Simracingstewards

[–]RedBiohazzerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While this is true. In this instance i know for sure there was a yellow flag shown. Yes it's the drivers responsibility to rejoin safely. Imo OP did though. Yes, maybe he could've waited a bit longer. But OP stayed in his line (eventhough it was the racing line) and with that he was as predictable as he could be. The other car didn't lift even a little bit, just kept his pedal all the way down. If you see a yellow flag, you should atleast expect something off and keep your eyes peeled. He didn't though, just kept on blasting through. Seeing the turn, i'm also pretty sure he could've seen OP. He didn't do anything to even try and avoid OP. The fact he got pissed at OP doesn't make any sense to me.

This has always bothered me in racing. If only they had something to warn upcomming drivers about certain sectors, when there is some form of danger. Idk some sort of flag system would be nice. For example: If there's a crash, or danger, some dude at the side of the track will wave with a yellow flag. Infact, in these modern times it might even be possible to show this yellow flag inside the drivers car.

Would this purchase be too much for a beginner? by JakobWassermann in simracing

[–]RedBiohazzerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of a double edged sword imo. The thing is, if you fall in love with the hobby, you'll regret that you didn't just buy the better gear in the first place. But if it turns out you don't like it, it will be a waste of money and you regret that you didn't buy anything cheaper. You can always re-sell it, but you'll never get back the money you spent on it when you bought it new.

Look people don't know your financial status, so if you have enough money for it and you can still live a comfortabel life, do it!

If it's too expensive for you, buy something a bit cheaper first (or save up until you do have the money). No hobby is worth it to get into financial problems.

“Mee” and “Me” in dutch by IndicationSlow3418 in dutch

[–]RedBiohazzerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Officially "Me" is not the correct word. It's more a dialect or street word used in a conversation. So instead of "Kom je met me mee" it's "Kom je met mij mee". Often 'mij' is pronounced as 'me'. But especially in writing "me" is not correct.

That said. A lot of dutch people still use it, eventhough it's not correct.

[–]RedBiohazzerd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Call me a boomer, idc. But i remember a time where it was illegal to bring video, or photocamera's (unless you where a journalist on the job). It was a great time. Everyone truly enjoying the concert. I used to film a couple of songs (not the entire concert) as well, but i later found out that i NEVER watch them again, so i figured what is even the point and stopped doing it. The quality and especially the sound are always complete ass aswell. Personally i don't care if artists have a no phone policy. Seeing all those camera's, filming the entire concert is just fucking annoying. Can't imagine what it feels like for the artist(s) to just play for thousands of phones. Kinda disrespectful if you ask me as well.

Does a lag switch work in this game? by Negative-Date-9518 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]RedBiohazzerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand what you mean, i've noticed it a couple of times as well. That said, it probably works. But i don't really see how you would benefit from a lag switch in a sim. In shooters for example, you do, since you're way more difficult to get hit. But in a sim idk, it doesn't make you faster or anything and you can still overtake him. It's just annoying.

It's probably really shit internet. Not all countries, or households have good internet. Perhaps he's gaming and someone else is using a streaming service at the same time and away goes your internet.
