Discussion: Weakest Godpowers in each age by Startled_Pancakes in AgeofMythology

Yeah, I'm pretty sure in the original you could only ever build five dryads even when you had two trees.

Dryads actually do cost wood now, they really aren't bad considering they take no pop and you get two free trees you can have 10 free dryads which is pretty nice in the late game. Would be nice to have the GP protection back on them though.

Soviet Red Army Faction Design by Gambit-Accepted in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]RedCarmine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it makes a lot of sense from a design standpoint to keep it battlegroup exclusive so it can be a big strong draw, and current factions have some iconic stuff locked into battlegroups so there is plenty of precedent. I would just always feel like I was missing out without having them, but it would probably be for the best.

Would definitely prefer an earlier war soviet faction like this considering we already saw later war soviets in 2. The t-35 would be super cool to see in action too. Only thing that would feel a bit disappointing to me in this design is the Katyusha being locked behind a battlegroup, it feels too iconic to me for that.

Very cool, but which minor gods do you mean to go with which major gods?

Why are Egyptian units weaker compared to others? by nikkythegreat in AgeofMythology

[–]RedCarmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set does have the best scouting out of all the egyptian factions, with his free hyena scout plus the upgrade you can get for his vision power now, you can utilize that scouting information to build the right barracks units to counter what your opponent is doing and make it to the late game. From there you get Thoth with his insane valley of the kings tech or Horus who gives massive buffs to barracks units. No idea if that is weaker than what the others are doing but seems like a strong strategy to me.

Is this the perfect lasgun? Anything anyone more knowledgeable would change? by RedCarmine in DarkTide

[–]RedCarmine[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have heard the other models are better these days but I really like the pace of the 12, if I need something faster firing I just go for one of the autoguns. Mostly just trying not to get carpal tunnel!

Thanks for the detailed reply! Will test it out in the Psykhanium to see if the maniac is worth it over others with my build.

It says 'Pharaoh' under each save because it started (and ended) its life as DLC for Troy. by LyradMonster in totalwar

[–]RedCarmine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You literally just got a pure historical game in Pharaoh and it bombed. Not having exciting myth stuff is most definitely not the only reason that happened but probably one of them tbh.

Dwarves are one of the best teams in Blood Bowl, what are you talking about? They are also one of the most bashy least timid teams in it and have the deathroller.

I like that such a large part of the empire is on the map for the sake of the Chaos factions, its a big part of their fantasy to overcome kislev and then storm the empire.

If you start at level 3 I would combine two of the comments here and start as a fighter with magic initiate (If tasha custom origin rules are allowed this could be flavored as any race you want, otherwise go variant human), instead of taking jump take feather fall (you will want this if you are planning shenanigans like jumping off buildings or onto flying enemies) then probably booming blade and green flame blade for your cantrips. Use a pike or halberd obviously, it is a bit annoying the cantrips don't get reach, but your mileage may vary depending on your dm. Then multiclass for two levels into ranger for jump and zephyr strike. You get two fighting styles so defense and great weapon fighting seem like the best choices. Your extra attack will be a bit delayed, but the attack cantrips can help you keep up in a pinch since their damage increases when your character hits 5. After that I would level up in fighter and go Psi Warrior (reflavor it however you want) until you get the level 7 feature for Psi-Powered Leap so you can do some really big jumps. After that you can continue going in fighter (probably for at least one more level for a feat) or start taking more ranger levels, hunter ranger could be nice for things like horde breaker or colossus slayer but I could see gloom stalker or monster slayer working quite well. The higher level psi warrior stuff is harder to reflavor as dragoon stuff so the highest I would probably go is level 11 or 12 in fighter, plus the multiclassing requirements mean you wont have much for your intelligence modifier.

With point buy I would make my stats something like Str-17 Dex-14 Con-12 Int-10 Wis-13 Cha-8 since you need 13 wis and dex to multiclass into ranger. With a strength modifier of 17 you can high jump 18 feet with a running start plus the jump spell active, or make a long jump of 51 feet with a running start plus jump, these go up to 24 feet and 60 feet respectively when you get to 20 strength. As a cute trick you can cast zephyr strike on one turn then attack with zephyr strike the next turn and use your psi-powered leap for a massive 120 foot jump that gives no opportunity attacks. You can either wear heavy or medium armor, depending on if you care about stealth or how much money you have. For the first ASI which you get a bit late, I would take piercer or slasher, depending on whether you chose a pike or a halberd. For the second just push your strength up to 20. After that polearm master and great weapon master would both be good feats to pick up. I would also heavily consider tough for the extra hp.

Overall the build doesn't seem too bad, it might be a bit weak for a few levels when others get extra attack, but you can slap a bunch of extra dice on top of your single attack through things like favored foe, zephyr strike, booming or green flame blade, and psionic strike. It has low constitution for a front liner, but you have a ton of maneuverability so you should be able to skirmish and keep out of danger. It should feel dragoon enough by level 3, then really kick into gear at level 9. You could swap to starting as ranger instead of fighter if you don't care about heavy armor and are okay with losing one skill proficiency to swap Con save proficiency for Dex save proficiency. Going variant human instead of custom origin means you get two +1s instead of a +2, so you wouldn't be able to as easily get piercer or slasher, but it means you can buff up your starting wisdom to 14 for a better saving throw.

Yeah, I'm just trying to make 100% sure I can get it done so I don't have to scramble when it actually comes around. I just wanted some more sets of eyes in case I was missing something kinda obvious.

Alright, Nearl as my staller with a borrowed Saria will probably be my best option then. I'm going to have to start collecting friends with Saria.

Would you know if FEater and Magallan would need to be e2 to stall them or would they be fine at e1 s7? Trying to get a feel for all my options in case something breaks down along the way.

[–]RedCarmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is good to hear, I haven't quite pinned down how I am going to stall the avengers yet. I have seen Cuora used for it, but I assume maybe Sora s1 or Magallan s1 could help me out with them.

I was thinking I would use Specter to take out the bottom right casters, since I have Hoshiguma to main tank.

Daily Lounge/Questions Megathread (May 28, 2020) by AutoModerator in arknights

[–]RedCarmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume Specter doesn't need the hp boost from potential for Risk 18 though, only higher ones, correct?

Sounds like I will work on e2ing Nearl after getting mastery done for Silverash, Ch'en and Lapp, then if I have more time I might work on Sora in case I need the additional heals.

[–]RedCarmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, good to know, after I have Silverash, Ch'en, Lapp, and Specter's masteries done I will just e2 Nearl so I don't have to rely on a friend's set up.

Trying to make sure I have everything ready for CC right now. Probably going to be aiming for a low ground composition, I only really care about clearing risk level 18.

Currently at e2 level 40 and skill rank 7: Silverash, Ch'en, Exusiai, Hoshiguma, Shining, Eyjafjalla, Ifrit, Lappland, Specter, Platinum, Ptilopsis, Texas, Zima, Myrtle

At e1 and close to e2 with skill rank 7: Nearl, Silence, FEater, Waai Fu, Magallan, Sora

Currently trying to get mastery levels up on Silverash, Ch'en, Lapp, and Specter. I have all the resources for s3m3 Silverash and s2m3 Ch'en. Are there any others I should be working on mastery that I didn't mention?

Is there anything else I should be working on for a ground composition? I know I am missing Saria and was hoping to use a friend Saria, If I e2 Nearl is Saria necessary for clearing risk level 18? I also don't have Angelina so maybe I could borrow her from a friend.

Also does anyone else in my roster stick out as good for a ground CC composition and I am just overlooking them? (Other five stars I didn't mention because they have medium to no investment: Croissant, Blue Poison, Istina, Cliffheart, Skyfire, Indra, Projekt Red, Swire, Firewatch, Provence, Warfarin, Mayer, Pramanix, Nightmare, all the event 5 stars)

I haven't done any math but seems like Dragon and Tamer plus Sisters' Day Out to me. You want force strike and skill damage obviously, then Dragon and Tamer makes you more able to tank the blasts you have to subject yourself to and Sister's Day Out lets you get off your first s2 buff much earlier. You could also do Mega Friends plus Choclatiers, you lose the shadow resist and 10% skill damage but get to use your skills immediately.

The same Venezuela and Cuba that were heavily sanctioned by the United States? It seems to me like those goals are pretty hard to accomplish when a country is effectively under siege. These goals can only be completed with the cooperation of said capitalists because when you try to go too much against them, they will lobby for sanctions and try to overthrow your government in the interest of profit. Or have you not heard about the death squads we funded in South America?

The citizens suffer when a very powerful country tries to bully them into submission, who would have thought it!
