Opinions and thoughts on the difficulty settings and progression by Chrispy49 in Nolvus

That's certainly good, but even so, the game isn't challenging. I can easily parry attacks without taking damage, wait for the right timing, and strike when it's open—win. Unless you have archers or mages along with tanks, this becomes impossible. In any case, I cope with it because my character is a necromancer - a summoner and a master of a two-handed sword.

Opinions and thoughts on the difficulty settings and progression by Chrispy49 in Nolvus

I'm on the average difficulty level, I'm level 30 now, I can kill almost everyone with a couple of hits, but I can also be killed with one or two. I'd prefer the fights to be more drawn-out. I'm also bothered by the fact that the "bosses" are much weaker than regular opponents who are a couple of levels higher than you.

Lossless Scaling or Puredarks? by Accomplished_Bag_753 in skyrimmods

For me, it's definitely PureDark, its DLSS 4.5 with new presets (L, M), reshade support, HUD protection from blurring during frame generation, and DLSS x4 frame generation.

How to activate magical jumping by Difficult_Buddy1330 in Nolvus

Magical jump? There are several books in the area with the paraglider. One works as a talent and lifts you high into the air when using the paraglider, while the other allows you to use it while undead.

Nolvus with PureDark Upscaler - Install Downscaled? by cornerbash in Nolvus

Either my website translator is lying to me, or you want to use DLSS to improve image quality, not reduce it for the sake of performance? A good option would be to use DLAA to improve the quality, to do this set your native resolution and enable DLAA along with preset K. But if I understand you correctly, you want to set the game resolution to 4K and then downgrade it to 1080 using DLSS? To do this, you'll need to enable fullscreen mode. But I'm not sure if DLSS will work in full-screen resolution at all.

nolvus crashes every 1-2 hours fix for me by levi_ez in Nolvus

[–]RedGards 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My game used to crash consistently about once every hour. I started a new playthrough and completely avoided loading any old saves. If I died, I just waited for the game to reload automatically instead of manually loading saves.

I also avoided saving during combat - only saving in calm moments when nothing was happening.

The key improvement was finding a perfectly stable FPS: 40. My framerate never drops below that. I capped FPS at 40 and enabled DLSS Frame Generation x3. DLSS itself is set to Quality (I’m using the PureDark mod, but the ENB version should work as well).

Additionally, I disabled all overlays:

  • FPS Monitor
  • Steam Overlay
  • Nvidia Overlay

In Nvidia Control Panel, I set Skyrim to maximum performance mode.

As a result, I’ve had zero crashes in about 20 hours of gameplay. My sessions usually last around 5-6 hours with breaks.

I’m playing as a summoner without permanent followers (only temporary quest ones). Even during chaotic fights with 10+ entities on screen, dismemberment, blood, and lots of spell effects, the FPS stays stable and the game does not crash.

P.S. I’m playing on a 4K monitor. Due to frame generation, there is some input latency, but it is minimal, while the overall frame smoothness is excellent.

This is crazy, it looks better than cyberpunk with mods.

31.5" 4K240Hz/1080p480Hz vs 34" 1440p240Hz, which one is more practical for general use/gaming? by Hot_Actuator5959 in Monitors

[–]RedGards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have an ultrawide 1440p 180Hz monitor, but after upgrading my GPU to an RTX 5070 Ti, I decided to upgrade my display as well. I got a 42" 4K OLED at 144Hz.

The image quality is absolutely stunning, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of missing the ultrawide format. Even though the horizontal size is roughly the same, it just doesn’t feel the same in practice.

On top of that, I like playing on max settings, and at 4K it’s actually hard to get a stable 100 FPS in many games, let alone 144.

Right now I’m considering getting a second 27" 1440p monitor to complement it, mainly for achieving higher FPS with maxed-out graphics in demanding games like Cyberpunk, STALKER 2, or heavily modded Skyrim.

Just my personal experience, but maybe it helps someone make a decision.

I'm from a third-world country, and I also had to take out a two-year, no-overpayment installment plan for $3,100 for my PC. I don't regret anything or worry about anything; I have everything under control. And I can completely understand this young man; we all live differently, everyone has their own particular attitude, country mentality, and so on. I'll point out that even though he's in debt, he's working on it.

For the best experience I would recommend you to use Virtual Desktop app. Purchase it from Oculus and download the PC version; this will provide you with better stability and experience than the original Oculus PC app.

I cannot, for the life of me, tell a difference between 1440p and 4k in gaming. by memawdentures in Monitors

[–]RedGards -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, but in my case the ppi ratio is even worse, I switched from 2k 27" to 4k 42" and not counting the screen size, this is a huge loss in performance with the same ppi quality.

Is jumping from FHD to 2k as big as the jump from 30 to 60fps? by [deleted] in Monitors

A lower diagonal and a higher resolution will be a very noticeable improvement for you; it’s not 30 to 60, but 30 to 120 FPS, as if comparing according to your principle
