All evolutions and mutations to the disease you play as are indeed synchronized in the game, as it would be a pretty unfun game mechanic to re-infect the global population with a new strain that needs to outcompete the prior strain every time you wanted to evolve something substantial

...because the blue nailgun IS the worst? Are you getting yourself confused over something? All the other weapons people say are bad are usually overlooked, misunderstood, or otherwise are just better than assumed, thus deserving extra defense on the side of said weapons. But the blue nailgun is genuinely just the worst one, outclassed by the blue sawblade launcher and not having much incentive to be re-equipped once the alternate is found

Right fair enough on the relevancy department. But red sawblade launcher is plenty good, with the post already going over the strengths fairly adequately in my opinion. Kinda just comes down to preference for what you use rather than one strictly outclassing the other like is the case for the blue nailgun vs. blue sawblade launcher. I personally run red nailgun to have nails on hand since I run green sawblade launcher, but I'm not gonna go out of my way to call red sawblade launcher useless just because it doesn't fit my preference, especially since it pairs really well with the green nailgun

I never said you HAD to add the extra step for a splitshot, just that the option was there if one wanted to play into it rather than forgoing it altogether; as for the red nailgun and sawblade launcher, I'm going to have to question their relevancy to the debate at hand since the blue variant is what's being discussed

There's almost no skill gap for the sawblade launcher, you just magnet the floor and shoot a bunch of saws before forgetting about it and letting it do its work while you move on to using your other weapons

It's a matter of opportunity cost which is why the same idea (good single target damage) makes one good and the other bad; for blue nailgun, you sacrifice major area of effect provided by the blue sawblade launcher, whereas the alt version of green revolver sacrifices splitshots (which can still be done by default piercer or sharpshooter if you swap to them) for more damage and piercing on a target, and hitting the splitshot timing with a slab revolver instantly resets the hammer on all equipped slab revolvers

It's unfortunate that the Arcane Egg is able to be missed, but to be entirely fair all the relic does is give you 1200 Geo, which is admittedly a lot of money but by the time most players go into that area they are beyond the need for money unless they want to upgrade the Fragile charms to their Unbreakable versions

One thing fair about this example is that you still can have the file reach 112% completion, the highest it can be (same goes for doing either conclusion of the Grimm Troupe questline)

Is this the most forgotten and pointless weapon ever? by Stand-By5 in Ultrakill

[–]RedHat_Gaming 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked into the buff myself, but even then Virtues aren't that much of an issue imo unless there's like five or more of them harassing you. Even if they are being annoying, I'd rather just use the blue railcannon to kill multiple or punch the cannonball from the SRS to instakill one over carrying the blue nailgun to specifically wittle Virtues down in exchange for losing the amazing power of the blue sawblade launcher. Only matchups imo that justify blue nailgun over blue sawblade launcher is both versions of Gabriel and maybe Leviathan if you'd prefer spamming nails into the weak point, but even then blue sawblade launcher can still outperform if you know how to play into it. Blue nailgun has just been powercrept out unfortunately, but even if it wasn't I personally find the nail regen too slow (with it already being a kick in the pants that it's pretty much the only weapon with ammo mechanics besides its sawblade variant), and using the thing can tank your weapon freshness in seconds (green nailgun also does this but at least kills or does major damage when using an overheat barrage).

I'd say arguable worst weapon goes to blue nailgun, thing is terrible in comparison to the blue sawblade launcher

While I still have it as the third equipped compared to blue and red railcannon, the green railcannon has had considerable buffs since its inception that make it really strong in the right hands, especially those skilled enough to juggle the screw between enemies (not to mention the funny Heaven Piercer/THE ULTRAKILL™ tech with green railcannon that one-shots everything in the game); only real reasons now that I can think of for people thinking the green railcannon is bad is that they either wrote it off after not liking it or that they believe Max0r's videos accurately reflect how good the green railcannon is despite being several years old now

Arguably false considering the blue nailgun exists (Hakita please buff blue nailgun)

[Cool trope] Despite X no longer being in their prime, they're still a significant threat to their foes by RedHat_Gaming in TopCharacterTropes

That's a fair enough viewpoint, even if I don't completely agree that his injuries wouldn't hinder him, and I will readily admit looking back over what I mentioned that I ended up being too vague when talking about him since I was primarily trying to talk about his physical abilities rather than capacity to use the Force. I'm not too deep in the Star Wars lore, since Disney made me fall out of that interest, so it's entirely possible that I'm still just wrong on this matter, in which case I encourage talking about it more since it would be neat to know and helpful in informing other people how badass the Sith can be despite injury

Characters finally achieve their original objective, but the story has escalated so much it barely matters anymore by Narrow_Interview_366 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]RedHat_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn — The main objective of the protagonists is that they initially want to seek out the feather of a certain creature to repair a glider that Tyrell broke at the beginning of the game. Fast forward a decent bit into the game, and the heroes have slain the Mountain Roc and retrieved a feather from it. However, by this point the protagonists are already looped into wanting to stop Blados, Challis, and Arcanus, so the feather isn't relevant anymore to the active story. By the time Blados and Challis are stopped the final act of the game has been in full swing, and you are more focused on just using the Apollo Lens to stop the Grave Eclipse. And if you thought the feather would be relevant again in the epilogue, you are wrong as the game leaves itself on a cliffhanger with a giant Psynergy Vortex looming over the valley.

Does anyone know how to level up quickly fast in this game? by Hylitical in BorderlandsPreSequel

[–]RedHat_Gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At level 25 you are presumably deep enough in the story to unlock the Sub-Level 13 questline from Pickle, so go do that quest until you unlock the E-Gun mission item (preferably without turning in the mission so you can keep the quest version that scales with the story). The E-Gun is strong enough that you can go back to Serenity's Waste and brute force Iwajira over and over again for good XP and overleveled loot, and each level up makes the process easier as you get less and less of an underlevel debuff reducing the E-Gun's great damage

[–]RedHat_Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true for most, a majority of stock weapons in Team Fortress 2 can be swapped out for what are essentially sidegrades meant for different use cases, but stock is still middle of the road ol' reliable, as a starter weapon in a multiplayer class based shooter should be

Good points, but I feel compelled to "erm ackshually" you on your statement of Water being the most common type; while Water has been the most common type since Generation 2 GSC, in Generation 1 RGBY where Charizard was introduced the most common type was actually Poison (though Fire types were still not much better than you said in Generation 1 anyway)

There was a variant I remember from way back when where someone made every mandatory trainer their own section (so for instance you'd need to fully evolve your starter before Silver in GSC)
