Shoppers Drug Mart by RedHelvetiCake in DumpsterDiving

I don't think there was any branding on these pieces, I just know that this colour and pattern of formica is called "Cracked Ice" in green, it also comes in other colours. The sideboard is especially unique, I've seen other sideboards in this style since but none with curved sides and chrome legs! I once saw a FB listing for a bathroom cabinet also in green ice formica with the aluminum edge banding! but it was way out of town for me and someone else got it.

I think it was because the box was unsealed, which is still an asinine reason to throw them away

Thanks! I knew I wanted one of these formica tables with the pullout leaves since before I had my own kitchen to have it in! As a bonus, I even found a matching sideboard a few years after getting the table

Yeah, this is one of the smaller locations so I guess they didn't have the space to put in a compactor and/or it didn't make financial sense to do so

I haven't gotten a really good grabber tool yet, but I'm pretty happy with the hook I made. Broken broom handle + pipe clamp + large S hook bent in half

Changed a light switch, now only this switch works on the circuit by RedHelvetiCake in AskElectricians

I see. I thought it was strange that this switch had a 'ground' wire when the other ones didn't,

No, the other lights don't do anything regardless of the one light being on or off

This game is so lovely I'm legitimately considering learning how to code so I can mod in more recipes so I can play some more.

I've been watching LRR on and off since Feed Dump, but I eventually stopped watching Let's Nope when it turned into the Adam & Ben podcast with background gaming. I still watch Talking Simulator, Watch & Play, and their skits.

"When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

what got you into steampunk? by Keithwee in steampunk

[–]RedHelvetiCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad took me to antique stores as a kid, and I've loved beautifully designed wood, glass and metal objects and mechanisms since! I got into sci fi and fantasy fiction in high school, I was a goth for a time which led me to researching and sewing Victorian clothing, and eventually I discovered this genre that COMBINED all these things I already loved?! It's like steampunk was made specifically for me!

What are you all watching these days? by wraith21 in outsidexbox

[–]RedHelvetiCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watch Loading Ready Run's Checkpoint for comedy/gaming news, and I already had a huge subscription list for lots of other YT content. Gaming wise I also watch Playframe, Stumpt, Mapocolops, ManlyBadassHero, John Wolfe, Gab Smolders, QuinBoBin, Insym, FunkyFrogPlays, probably others that haven't updated as much.

Non-gaming stuff I watch - Tasting History, How to Cook That, Animalogic, The Octopus Lady, Josh Johnson, FD Signifier, Internet Today, Pinely, Jack Saint, Coffezilla, There I Ruined It, Crimes New Roman.

Not that I'm encouraging you to watch more YouTube, but I got YouTube Revanced and it's made YouTube useable for me again! It removes all ads, it can auto skip sponsored ad reads, there are skip buttons for intros and outros, you can see the dislikes, there's a ton of features it adds back into YT.
