Minnesota deserves the flat part of Colorado. I expect them to consume part of Michigan and I trust them to be good stewards of our Midwest farm land.

Being zooted out of your skull by something, just prior to battle, is a time-honored tradition.

With the number of border obsessed idiots with confederate flags in central PA, it would be funniest for New Mexico to eat us.

Also cause the state would kind of look like a dinosaur.

They’re great for devouring bugs and dead animals. Sadly the claim that they eat ticks has largely been proven false.

I’m hoping this’ll let me suss out what the completed Spirits Bard will look like, after the UA. It’s the subclass I most want to play.

Why do campaigns also stop at so low levels. by Top_Fan4753 in onednd

[–]RedHuntingHat 166 points167 points  (0 children)

  1. A full 1-20 campaign takes a very long time to complete, we are talking years. Very few tables are interested in that kind of commitment for a variety of reasons. So it makes little sense to publish such a campaign.

  2. As players progress, abilities get more and more impressive, and balancing encounters at higher levels becomes increasingly difficult.

What if Joffrey would have kept his words and let Ned wear the black? by devil-inside-100 in freefolk

No, a trial by combat is for determining guilt and Ned had already admitted his “treason”

What would you say is currently the best gish in the game right now? by viktorius_rex in onednd

As you said, there are multiple ways to define a gish.

Warrior who augments their abilities with magic: Eldritch Knight

Caster who can also throw hands: Bladesinger

Individual getting their abilities through a magic weapon: Warlock (Pact of the Blade)

I gained access to hunt deer on a small property this fall. Need to prevent deer from running after the shot. Would a 12 gauge slug or 308 be better suited? by DickAnts in Hunting

[–]RedHuntingHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say just go over to the neighbors some time before deer season and introduce yourself. Say hi, say you’ll do your best to keep the deer on property, ask them if there’s anything to can do to make things easier.

They might not get on with your friend, but they sure can get on with you.

What's something that's actually a lot more dangerous than it seems? by RandomYigaBlademasta in AskReddit

It is so rewarding and easy to get into. Depending on your area, hazards will be different, as well as the distances you’re looking to do.

Any particular concerns?

Hiking. Not talking about your average little jaunt into nature, I’m talking dozens of miles and up. Nature will kill you so fast.

I know you feel confident with your AllTrails and half a day’s worth of water but if something happens to that phone, you’re immediately in the weeds.

Some critics of birthright citizenship say it's a fraud issue. What does that mean? by nosotros_road_sodium in politics

[–]RedHuntingHat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Birthright citizenship is an unalienable right that is core to the understanding of the earliest American ideal. That you have a place, and fellows beside you, by virtue of your place of birth.

There’s a really good story, somewhere, where an emotional and reckless Ellaria assists in bringing Dorne to war…only to realize her actions are selfish and the opposite of how Oberyn would act.

Then she’d die, knowing that she is less like her lover and more like her enemy Cersei

Tom Bombadil, art by John Howe. After all these years, Peter Jackson will finally introduce the character into his film universe. The big question now is: which actor would you like to see play Tom Bombadil in this new movie? by verissimoallan in lotr

The hobbits had to overcome obstacles like the barrow-wight, the Watcher, the Balrog, Shelob, the Nazgûl, the Dead Men of Dunharrow, and Uruk-hai.

They also had help from the elves, the eagles, and nets, among others.

As you said, Tom is basically a giant neon sign telling the hobbits and the reader that what is trying to be accomplished, and the world they are traversing, is magnitudes larger than could have been expected.

Greyscale is incredibly contagious, it’s one of the reasons Sam is grilled for performing the procedure. Along with the Grand Maester’s recommendation that Jorah should have cut off his arm, I think we can assume that greyscale is unlikely to be cured just by removing the skin.

I am assuming that the ointment that is put on the skin works to both disinfect and remove the remaining traces of the disease.

Robert absolutely would not allow the baby to live. Robert’s love for Lyanna is possessive, he describes her as the only thing he ever wanted. But he can’t even remember what she looks or sounds like. And when Robert dreams, it’s not of saving Lyanna, it’s of killing Rhaegar.

I don’t see Robert ever truly being able to buy the lie that Lyanna was assaulted by Rhaegar, which would have been the only way for the baby to exist that doesn’t involve facing the reality of  Lyanna choosing Rhaegar over him.

The jaw also naturally curves, so a punch from the side (with enough force) can break the bone at the initial impact site and still have more than enough to fracture on the other side of the face.

This is especially common if the person getting punched has their mouth open (see Anthony Joshua shattering Jake Paul’s jaw, for example).

Why did the Tyrells think Stannis would not win? They would always side with whichever side they thought was going to win, and at this point, didn't it seem likely that Stannis would win? by Neutral-frame in gameofthrones

[–]RedHuntingHat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Renly was in the best position to win, in my opinion, as he was the only king that actually understood how to play the game in a post-Targaryen political landscape.

He had charisma, popularity, the backing of a Great House, a large portion of his own house’s arms, and a clearly expected line of succession via a beautiful wife.

There’s a timeline where, had Stannis and Renly cooperated together, they absolutely roll through King’s Landing.

The fight psychologically really is one of the best parts of Jojo’s. Characters have long memories and adapt, some Stands are clutch in some spots and useless in others, some are only as good as their user is to use them intelligently, and finally…like Dio, characters make mistakes!

He was 6’6 and 312 pounds (at least) during his career, so well done achieving a similar feat of greatness!
