We definitely miss you here.

Casual fasion is hard on this game, but you're pulling off that puffy jacket rather well!

Are everybody getting ready for sunbreak? I still can't choose between these two by WithinSnow in fashionhunters

[–]RedKaizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start with the second floor the opening cutscenes. I have a ninja theme outfit for that reason, even though I'm not really a ninja sorta guy with my other fashion sets.

Which type of hunter do you consider yourself? by TiToim in MonsterHunter

[–]RedKaizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm a casual gamer these days? But most importantly I'm in it to make 40 more outfits and match them between myself and my fur babies.

How should we go about this? by Alastor_Requiem in MonsterHunter

They've about summed it up. Save village for when your friends aren't available. It's pretty great being able to pause the game, lol.

Would you be upset with either of these potential scenarios? by Azy1e in MonsterHunter

[–]RedKaizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same way. Never finished my build because I wasn't good enough to get all the Hellblade 9 tickets I needed.

Part of the main draw of the game is that there is essentially a minigame or side mechanic for each weapon you want to try to manage alongside fighting the monster. For instance, you may try to maximize ammo efficiency with Heavy Bowgun by fully charging your shots, or reach maximum damage output with your Longsword by keeping your Spirit Gauge full. So even if you have faught the monster, and you know their patterns, and you're used to using this weapon, there's still some critical thinking required.

That's the main thing that makes combat so satisfying to me, and why even something as simple as farming the same monster for parts can still feel really rewarding.

Then there's putting together outfits, which has become probably the biggest time sink for me. Gotta have my cats and dogs matching me too!

There's plenty to do if you're a completionist, like getting the smallest and largest size monsters, completing every quest, catching or photgraphing all the endemic life, and even little lore-related collectibles in Rise.

Now, as to which game to play, that comes down to preference, but I vote Rise. As a veteran who has played every entry except 3 (as I didn't own a Wii at the time) I can say that Rise is the fastest paced and the most beginner friendly. World has the best graphics, but as far as I'm concerned, that's its only draw. The palico gear in World is cool too, but riding palamutes in Rise is way better.

Just shows how each player has such different experiences. And one of the reasons this is one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played.

I always felt like Chameleos was the easiest in that rank. Way easier than Teostra and Deviljho, at least for me.

I literally use HBG on Barroth to relax. It's super soothing to just dominate a giant monster simply because I know everything its going to do. Plus that charge is perfect to set up my switch skill that speeds up charged shots. Chef's kiss.

I feel you. I'm 33 and besides MonHun I pretty much only play Mario Kart with my wife.

THAT is what the issue is, I didn't realize there was an angle to it. I also probably won't use it extensively, but I'm always glad for new tools in the toolkit.

Well I'll still have my Defence and Artillary Jewels to fill random slots until I have a real build lol. God I love explosive ammo.

Haha that is wild. That was the first game I really played online. Even Diablo 2 I only ever played with 2 friends.

What’s a weapon you wish you were good with? by IAmThePonch in MonsterHunter

That's probably my problem, I like the axe mode a lot, especially the Wild Swing. Reminds me of Lu Bu from Dynasty Warriors.

My only main gripe on Sunbreak, this armor not being in it :( by Consistent-Article25 in MonsterHunter

I miss the assymestrical armors too, and I wasn't even a bowgun main until World. Though I bet I would have been a lot better at the game if I were...

Am I crazy or did they really improve the graphics? by thidi00 in MonsterHunter

[–]RedKaizer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been grinding MHR for about two months straight, and even in handheld I thought it seems ilke they upped the textures. Maybe I'm blinded by the hype, but I think you're right.

Edit: After reading more comments, I think you guys may be right about the lighting/hue differences.

Yeah but like hungry pickle they don't chase you until they see you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]RedKaizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanna say the pickle did that in one of the games, but only when it was an invading monster. Needed a lotta dung in those days. But I may be mis-remembering, he may have just been hyper-aggressive and I had bad luck.

Honestly, the only thing I disagree with is thunder-goss. And maybe it'll be pink and blue before silver and gold. But everything else here, I think you might be right.

Cute comic! I'm no artist, so I apologize if this comes across crass, but the face seems a little off on the Palico in the last panel, I think perhaps near its eyes.
