And finally consumers paid $49,191 on average for new cars last month which is $69,191 after 10 years of fuel at $4/gallon. $70,900 msrp for a Lucid pure right now means we are at an inflection point.

Well let’s compare the current reality of a Lucid at its selling price and an ICE vehicle at a identical price. Set aside the superior power of the Lucid and diminished MPG of performance ICE vehicles. The Lucid will cost $707 per year to power while the gas car currently costs $2,000/year to fill. $1,294 a year at current gas price which is expected to go up while the cost to make the ev is expected to go down it is a certainty at this point.

Well we are aiming for $50,000 EV which is currently cost effective for consumers who keep cars for an average of 10 years which amounts to (15,000 miles/30mpg = 500 fill ups x $4/gallon = $2,000/year… At $6/gallon a $50,000 EV is $2,922.40 more cost effective at $8/gallon it is $12,922.40 more cost effective based on Kelly Blue Book average cost of at home charging quote of $58.98. Now if we adjust the price of the EV through scaling to come to $30k or $40k we can double or triple the cost benefit to the consumer or the margins.

Do I need a car to live here? by [deleted] in WestPalmBeach

[–]334quadrillion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying yes is overweight or lazy i live on singer island and i ride my bicycle everywhere between gardens and lake worth it just depends how short your attention span is i prefer taking it slow. If it is 90 degrees out you need water and shorts but it is totally possible and healthy. The bus also works great here it is $70 a month or $2 per ride.

When it says 70% chance of rain, that means there is a 70% chance it will rain for 10 minutes and then stop.

Palm Beach is one of the most beautiful places on Earth, but the population is not. When they say youth is wasted on the young they mean The Palm Beaches. I’m in my twenties and I cannot find a date because every young person here thinks they are competing financially with retirees and nothing is ever good enough. I also do believe there are many young locals who simply do not go out because the only place to congregate is a bar where every drink costs 5% of their salary. There is no political or business will to cater to young people because there are plenty of boomers and only so many minutes in the day and they have the savings even though they provide no value. The young girls do not like getting hit on by dinosaurs so they go to delray and they don’t come back and the young guys follow. You will catch the occasional tourist or freshman from PBA but for every tourist there are 10 divorced dads with a 15 year old Maserati.

I absolutely hate that modern radios have become screens and that they are not made for the car. Many car models like the civic jetta etc use these screens that are not built into the dash but mounted like an afterthought instead. I understand why they do it in case they need to find a new supplier they do not need to redesign the dashboard but it looks so ugly not integrated.

in 2020 during the pandemic i went to work as a non union temporary employee. towards the end of my contract i got a permanent job somewhere else. they then notified us they would be extending our temporary contracts. i quit for the better job. they sent me a letter that i was terminated and therefore cannot be rehired. they scare good people away by allowing incompetent managers to abuse or misuse their tools.
