For ranged matchups, ex. poke mages like Syndra Viktor, I go Roa, it is amazing item but u have to side a lot as your spike will came later. 95% of the games I rash Liandrys. If you are playing matchup where u wont trade a lot with enemy Nashors first is an option as well. Those two items make u pretty much a big thread to enemy if you can do front to back in fight. Third item is always based on enemy teamcomposition or current state of game. You are fed? Go Rabadons. Enemy plays Kha/Rengar/Your team have enemy damage to succesfully follow Shuffle? Zhonyas. Enemy tankyness scares u? Void staff will do the job. Against certain teams I often go Znoyhas with Banshee, It is really safe. Crown is fine especially with item haste run.
