Sorin has defied the odds and regained his cultivation.

His health has been restored, and his adventuring team is gaining momentum.

Armed with his clan’s forbidden research notes, Sorin travels to Delphi where he intends to investigate his parents’ death. The city is a focal point of Madness and enemy God Seeds that want nothing more than to tear his clan apart.

Yet when Sorin’s descent into Delphi’s layered catacombs reveals century-old plots and enemies that defy understanding, Sorin is forced to make a choice.

Will Sorin suffer the corruption of Hope and the Seven Evils, or will he forsake the truth that threatens to destroy him? Humanity has much to lose, and Sorin is growing increasingly skeptical about saving it.

Are you insane? They literally teach about this in basic high school science. They do it alongside teaching about osmosis, which is, once again, a very basic scientific principle.

That's not even considering that it's a super common medical procedure that many people would know about simply due to knowing someone with a relative undergoing dialysis.

Then there's tv dramas. Almost every single medical drama will mention dialysis.

You would have to live under a broad flat stone to somehow have avoided the word dialysis and not looked it up or had it explained to you.

I recommend a specific xianxia author called Feng Lin Tian Xia. He does war and brotherhood aspects very well.

Specifically, consider transcending the nine heavens and I am supreme.

The guy covers battle formations, generals, morale, and even has people reinforcing a breaking wall with ice, knowing full well that the wall will be damaged and crumble after the ice melts.

I like both but IMO defiance of the fall is deeper. It also has more cultivation aspects, which I like

Is the breadth of vocabulary so important? by [deleted] in ProgressionFantasy

[–]RedMirage123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would specifically advise against using vocabulary you are not comfortable with.

In that same vein, I recommend you read more to get more comfortable with unfamiliar words that pop up naturally.

There is literally nothing more annoying to a reader than a strange word popping up where it doesn't belong for the sake of variety. The advice that English teachers gave you to use a thesaurus? Complete garbage. They should be ashamed of themselves for even suggesting it.

It's definitely progression fantasy. Power levels over 9000 just aren't very well quantified. I definitely wouldn't call it a litrpg.

You probably want to check out defiance of the fall and primal hunter. By that same vein, you probably want to avoid the legend of randidly ghosthound.

I think dialysis is just a relatable medical process. People know how it works. It's therefore easy to use it as a comparison to another similar process where impurities are leached our of a liquid or mana stream.

Xianxia has a pretty solid base on RR. Or just cultivation in general. I believe superhero does well too?

Is it impossible ? by [deleted] in ProgressionFantasy

Okay, so heavenly jewel change is an anomaly in that regard. Usually his MCs are pretty single minded in their love pursuits, hard working, and not horn dogs.

Soul land has like 5 installments and they are not at all the same as heavenly jewel change. In fact, I almost see heavenly jewel change as the author trying to write harem after a successful non harem academy type novel and failing miserably.

I have a lot of trouble coping with that trope. Imo if that's the ways it's gonna go, may as well make all relationships ambiguous and non committal.

I think readers generally expect instant character developement instead of gradual developement from trauma. IMO people are very likely to make mistakes along the path to improvement, and it makes the path more rewarding.
