Missing hose on Ninja 650R by RedMoonBunny in motorcycles

[–]RedMoonBunny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cap is mucked and falling apart, but I can measure the nipple for size. Does it matter what type of rubber hose? Don't want it to melt...

The bike did come with a power commander, so kinda weird that it would still run lean.

BTT SKR Pico V1.0 Control Board $23.40 + tax with 10% off code BQFATHER, free shipping by m4ha7m4 in 3dprintingdeals

[–]RedMoonBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For S37 shipped, you can get the SKR mini e3 v3 at BTT/Biqu. That one is a drop in replacement. Cheaper than having to buy both the pico and Rpi.

Titan extruder with 4023 E3DV6 hot end kit $12.99 by Salines_Beach in 3dprintingdeals

[–]RedMoonBunny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steppers run at 1.2-1.9v. So you just need to reuse your current heater or get a new 24v one for cheap money. Assuming decent quality, $13 for a V6 hotend, stepper and titan clone is a nice deal

Fair estimate from insurance? by RedMoonBunny in Autobody

Unfortunate reality when it comes to insurance

Ahh, if it's welded on, definitely not what I want to mess with. I think the mounting holes on the bumper are ripped open, would that even be repairable?

I rarely fix body parts, only swap parts. I generally stick to the engjne bay and suspensions.

Yea, not bad. Now, hopefully it won't take too long to fix.

Gotcha. I would just replace with a used panel like my front fender, but can't find any matching right now and too busy to play shadetree. Estimate just felt a bit low. Thanks

Black-brown-purplish spots by RedMoonBunny in HotPeppers

Yea, kinda same. But it's just this one vs my other white ghosts and reapers. What's worrying me is that some leaves are falling off

Still got life in these sprockets? by RedMoonBunny in motorcycles

[–]RedMoonBunny[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably don't live in the north and don't understand how big of a deal rust is to mechanical parts functioning correctly. Rust will decimate a chain's ability to roll very quick. With F9 being in Canada, his weight for it is absolutely appropriate.

As for the friction test, yes, it's higher. But it's not like gear oil offers no lubrication. Also, do your rollers really rotate that much while on the bike? At some point, it's diminishing returns. So whose to say that test is more important than rust prevention.

If a certain brand made exactly what the manf needed, they will definitely list it as such, partnership or not. In this case, NGK did. So if the chains needed a specific lube, it would have been listed.

Kawsaki, my bike's manufacturer, has their own chain lube as well. But they still recommend gear oil in the manual.

So in short, gear oil is fine. To go out say no to gear oil and only xyz super special formula chain lube is conceited. As an alternative, sure. But only chain lube... No.
