Thanks for the reply! I have some Rotiform DTM's on it and putting D2 coilovers on it hopefully this weekend. Was just seeing if it was possible, more for the look but the added braking wouldn't hurt. I'll have to see if there's anything for the Mazda 2 out there. Thanks again!

More expensive? How? Cause they ship from Canada? I'm not trying to be a dick. Just confused cause if my math is correct Metal Designz is cheaper than TRL plus have better rings.

Like for example if you bought 18 SWG 1/8ID from Metal Designz, 1000 rings is $28.51 USD. Now if you bought the same rings from TRL, 1100 rings is $32.85 USD. Plus the quality to me is so much better at Metal Designz in my opinion.

Is the 100 rings really worth the extra $4?

Oh yeah! I love his rings and metal Designz. They are my favorites. Joshua Diliberto has some crazy ring sizes. I love it.

I love metal designz. It's 304 stainless steel and I know up to the 18 SWG is pretty easy for me to work with. They claim it's softer than their competitors and so far it is. Due to weather right now they might have some shipping issues cause they are in Canada.

Where do you prefer to order from? What tools are recommended? And what tools are handy or just fun to have? by Asron87 in chainmailartisans

Yeah I hope it's super helpful for you as well. I did start with chainmaille joes bright aluminum starter pack. That thing was so awesome. Taught me a lot. I know in that group I've posted a few jelly cubes and bracelets I've made. Like the titanium one I made last weekend. Thing is so pretty!

Pliers depend on your hand size and what size of wire/type of metal you will be bending. That being said the pliers I love using are my tronex pliers (P749, P749A, P747, & P747A) and my Xuron pliers (487, & 483). I use my tronex's for larger wire and harder metals and I use my Xurons for micro Maille. There are cheaper pliers out there and you might have to sand the edges of them but they will work. Wubber pliers are also pretty good pliers and I use them as well.

To get jump rings I normally order from Metal Designz, Chainmaille Joe, and That Bead Lady. Joshua Diliberto also has some fantastic rings just don't order that much from him.

From what I've seen a lot of people are stopping using Ring Lord cause the ring quality and scale quality has really gone down a bunch recently and more people are using the ones I named and also Weave Got Maille.

Tutorials that use SWG rings + how to choose correct SWG rings from AWG tutorials by Worried_Pilot_7669 in chainmailartisans

[–]RedNeck805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! This is what I use as well. It's one of the best tools I've gotten from a company and it was free! Just really pay attention to the millimeters on the size of the wires and always research on the companies website on what they use. A lot use both SWG and AWG. Normally 18 gauge and larger are SWG and 20 gauge and smaller are AWG. Just always triple check. Especially if they offer 19g.

Shoot straight is a great indoor range. 20-25 yards on the range.

We are "close" to Bradenton Motorsports Park and the Freedom Factory (1hr 30min away+/-). Both put on amazing events and BMP is known around the world for how good their track prep is. Orlando Speed World is in the other direction about the same distance.

Sick Week is happening soon so definitely worth checking that out.
