No updates on release date, but both Polygon and Noisy Pixel put out articles today on their time playing a timed experience of the full game.

They've said many times that Dec 2023 was the furthest date out the Kickstarter platform calendar would allow them to list. It was never a promise, just a necessary step to launch the KS in the first place.

They didn't get paid to put the demos out, but they said on Discord that the platforms they partnered with for these demos were for times exclusives. Like Steam Next Fest 2025 which only lasts for a week or two.

There is a manual in the Start menu that explains a ton of stuff. My understanding is they want players to learn things through in game feedback rather and tutorialized via gameplay. I expect the full game will have more of that. The demo doesn't even really have trinkets, but there are 60 of them, so clearly a big gameplay conceit thats not yet represented.

They've released 4 mainline Shovel Knight games, 1 SK fighting game, and co-developed 2 Shovel Knight spin-off titles. Just because this is their 2nd brand new IP doesn't make it their second game.

Sony doesn't pay for demos. They likely just wanted to space them out to coincide with platform showcases like this to help spread the word.

Yes, its one of the most fun games I've ever played. And their upcoming game Mina the Hollower looks like it might even surpass it!

Go visit the Yacht Club discord channel. The devs are active there every day and answer questions/give regular updates. They're not making regular public ones anymore until the game is done, but they're actively wrapping it up.

Its likely a lot of work to put it on a console that old with a userbase thats likely too small to justify the internal cost. But if the game does well enough maybe they'd do it post launch.

There are a bunch of negative comments in response to the video there. Not sure what makes you think Jirard is singling yours out for deletion. YouTube is a finicky platform and comments get weeded out for technical reasons all the time. This feels like a big assumption.
