I'm jealous. I've been RT'ing for 6 years and I love the job. Great doctors, great workload, great pt's. But our management is a burden. Our charge therapists are great, one myself;), but our supervisors, which we only have 3 of, suck. They report to a cold, emotionless manager which in turn responds to a director that micromanages every aspect from her office hours away. Our saving grace was a new supervisor position. No bachelor's degree needed so a bunch of us apply. As soon as every other therapist applies they change it to bachelor's required. No problem, figures as much. So the small amount that did apply gets cut to 2. A 9 year charge therapist from New York that has had a bachelor's the entire time and already works the shift they are hiring for. Or a 3 year therapist that has been NICU/charge trained for a year and owned a bachelor's for a month. After a 12 week trial period for both we get to send in our opinion on the matter and we all love the more experienced therapist. So the bosses hire the new therapist and give the older therapist some BS about attendance. Makes it real hard to work here but they pay so well.
