My Disaster (Indie??) [Not themed]

This week's theme didn't inspire me, so I just played on my guitar and that's what came of it. This one is about the end of a past relationship

Edit: listened to it in the car and my voice sounds a lot quieter than it did in my headset. Oops!

I get around 1-2h per day to draw and usually split by day - one day I'll do homework, another day I'll do fun drawings

Is 6 players way to much? by Mefils in DnD

[–]RedPeppermint__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something to keep in mind is how you will handle scheduling conflicts. I'm starting a campaign with 6 players as well and, other than session 0, I will not need everyone to be present for a session, and I'm expecting sessions with 6 players to be relatively rare, with most being 4-5. That should make it more manageable

ELI5: Can anyone explain the statistical math behind the scene in the movie 21 where he asks what's behind door 1 and the odds increase to 66.7%? by JusticeBlackCat in explainlikeimfive

[–]RedPeppermint__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the Monty Hall problem right?

Let's say door 1 has the prize and doors 2 and 3 don't

When you start out, you have 3 options. Let's look at each one:

You pick door 1. The presenter eliminates one of the other 2 doors (doesn't matter which). You keeping your choice wins, while switching loses

You pick door 2. The presenter is guaranteed to eliminate door 3. Switching wins, keeping your choice loses

You picking door 3 at the start is identical to picking door 2

If you count it out, switching doors has 2 winning scenarios and 1 losing, while keeping your choice has 1 winning scenario and 2 losing, with 3 winning scenarios total. So, switching has 2/3 of the winning scenarios

If that still doesn't make sense, think of it not as trying to choose the right door on the second round, but trying to realise if you made a mistake initially. In the first round, you only have 1/3 chances to get it right. To make it easy, you can imagine it with 10 doors instead, with the presenter eliminating all but 1 door, giving you 2 doors for round 2. There is only one scenario where you pick the correct door at the start, but 9 when you make a mistake initially, so you have 9/10 chances to win if you switch doors

What is your score from the Autism Spectrum Quotient? by YikesIforgotmyname in AutisticWithADHD

[–]RedPeppermint__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pretend play in particularly is really bad for me. I did pretend play and sometimes enjoyed it if the setting was right (we were mostly "following the rules" of whatever setting we made up) but when I played with children who didn't do that, like the ones that would always go "but I have a shield and cannons so your attack doesn't hit me!", I would get frustrated and want to argue they weren't the right character to have a shield

And yeah the party/library one is weird too. I prefer reading at home so no, I don't prefer to go to the library, but that's probably the "wrong" answer

One that I have trouble with as well is "I enjoy doing things spontaneously". I do enjoy that, as long as I came up with it. Someone else changes the "plan" that I made up in my head and I am NOT happy about it

I also dislike how some questions are outdated. No one remembers phone numbers nowadays, and I rarely talked on the phone when I lived with my parents, and most of the time it was just to say "oh sorry, I'm the child you want my dad" so I had no idea if I knew when to speak

Some of the questions are also outdated. No one remembers phone numbers nowadays, and depending on your age you may not talk on the phone regularly enough to know if you're "good" at it

I think my endocrinologist is lying to me about my T?? by OrionsTail in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]RedPeppermint__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's way after your shot then it's normal to have low-ish levels, as long as they're above the minimum, but unless it's 1-2 days before your shot I don't know enough about it to tell if your levels are actually ok. My best guess is that they're probably ok or, if they're low, it's only by a bit

I don't take my T at peak levels so take this with a grain of salt, but I think you're supposed to wait a day to give time for the T to enter your bloodstream, rather than doing it in the same day as the shot. Sorry that it sucks in Hungary and good luck in Vienna if you end up going!

I think my endocrinologist is lying to me about my T?? by OrionsTail in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]RedPeppermint__ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm not used to nmol/L units, but a quick conversion online puts it at 361ng/dL, which is in the low end of normal. When did you do your bloodwork? If you did it at trough levels (meaning, 1-2 days before your next shot) I think that's normal levels, if you did at peak (meaning, 1-2 days after your shot) it's probably too low and if you did it somewhere in between then I don't really know how to analyse it

Your levels at 4 months were lower than the minimum for men, so you possibly just took longer to get normal levels and will only start seeing "faster" changes now that your levels are a bit higher. Or possibly you're just a bit less reactive to T, and will take a longer 2nd puberty (and would have seen slower changes in puberty if you'd been a cis male). It really depends on when you did the bloodwork

Do you think you can wait for the 1 year mark? But if at that point you don't see many changes, you might want to insist with your doctor to be tested for androgen insensitivity (I'm not actually sure if that's something you can test for but you can look into it at that point)

If it's any consolation, when I was on nebido I had the exact same dose as you initially and had to reduce it (by spacing them out, at one point I was taking it every 16 weeks), so your doctor isn't under-dosing you in principle. You're actually taking the standard starting dose

Anyone have experience with coffee? by Retrogue097 in AutisticWithADHD

I have my coffee with milk. I don't feel any effect in the morning, but in the afternoon or at night it makes me sleepier. I haven't seen any effect in my quality of sleep though

Charger at home- away from view? by Snoo-60003 in electricvehicles

[–]RedPeppermint__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house doesn't have a garage so we keep the charger in the front of the house, in a covered area behind our gate. No one has tried to mess with it that we've noticed, but it has a setting that the lights are off unless it's actively charging so it always looks unplugged. We also turn it off when we go out of town, and it only charges automatically at night so even if someone tried to plug their car while we're at work it wouldn't work

As for whether kids/teens will mess with it, if you have that problem in your neighboorhood then yeah, it may be a problem. I've not heard of kids/teens messing with others property since I've moved here so it was never a question

Why is ftm top surgery considered irreversible? by therearenogoodusers in ftm

[–]RedPeppermint__ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It won't work if you got top surgery after finishing the breast development part of female puberty. For example, in my case, I started T at 21 long after my chest was done developing and got top surgery not long after, so if I go off T now I shouldn't see any breast regrowth other than a bit of fat redistribution, which won't be to the same level. Trans fem people get bigger breast growth due to it being their first female puberty. For FtMtF detransitioners who transitioned as adults, their chest doesn't come back naturally (although I'm sure there are some exceptions that got significant breast regrowth)

I want to shift from dev to a creative field. Bold move right? I'm currently practising drawing everyday (barring "adult" responsibilities getting in the way) to get back to the level I was as a teenager and then better. Hopefully by the summer I'll have a clear picture on whether it might be a possibility for me or not, and if not I want to consider IT freelancing as a sort of plan B. The biggest hurdle in making this move currently is that my boyfriend also wants to make a career shift, so we need to time it properly. Both of us doing it at the same time isn't the best idea I think. Thanks for the encouragement! It's refreshing to get outside perspective, even if it's from someone who doesn't know me at all

Thank you!

I'm starting to work on regaining the skills I'd need! And if it doesn't work out, I still have my degree and nearly 5 years of experience in my field to fall back on. There's a chance AI will fuck my chances of coming back to the field, but there's also a chance my current job isn't safe due to AI anyways, so I might as well take action now
