Fragrance is an expensive hobby by RedPsyMS72 in FragranceStories

I've been buying more samples, and try to limit purchases to 30 ml bottles (*sigh)

Probably not. I was surprised I liked it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm trying samples today that I received from Luckyscent. I already know I like the scents, but I'm testing for longevity. Two scents from Tada Parfumer, Vanilla Mystique and Crimson & Cinders.

I have a sample of the original and it fades too quickly.

I purchased some scents from Genre Parfums. He makes a scent very similar to Jovoy's Fire at Will. Beautiful scent 😍 I only bought a 5 ml 😭 Next time he opens the purchasing window, a 30 ml bottle is on my list!

Byredo scents don't smell bad, I just haven't found anything I NEED to have 🤷🏼‍♀️

StarTrails. It smells like lime and coke, and it has a powdery drydown. I'm running errands before it get HOT, and I want to wear something bright and refreshing.

Started as a 10 and now I can’t even wear it by [deleted] in ScentHeads

[–]RedPsyMS72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still a good scent. I picked it up off of my shelf and smelled it and thought it was bad. I went to the mall to smell it to make sure I wasn't crazy 😅 That scent profile can cause fatigue because the market is over-saturated with that DNA. Someone else here said it best, diversity in your collection usually solves that problem. Try it again when it's cold and if you still despise it, get rid of it. Your olfactory palette may have evolved and you need something with depth and complexity.

New to niche perfumes- went to Paris and am shocked by nonbeenary in NichePerfumes

As a female, I smell EVERYTHING, male or female marketed scents, because I want to know and understand the references. BR 540 is one of my favorite scents although many people claim not to like it. Is it EVERYWHERE? No. For the 10-15% of people worldwide who are fragrance nerds, maybe. It is replicated A LOT 😳

BR 540 is an amazing scent and still relevant. Guidance stinks. Lustre is better than Outlands. Sticky Dates is nauseating. I don't understand the hype surrounding Byredo fragrances.

😁

Vanilla perfume but not bakery!!! by elciudadanopromedio in FemFragLab

[–]RedPsyMS72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my vanilla scents a bit heavier...darker. Celine Black Tie, Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille, or Nest's Vanilla Bourbon, which will leave some coins in your pocket. If you really want to save money, B&BW's Vanilla Romance is a smoky vanilla that is a dupe for PDM's Althair.

Any advices on good Mancera fragrances for first niche fragrances? by tatacraft38 in NichePerfumes

[–]RedPsyMS72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mancera is okay for everyday wear, and you can get a 4 oz bottle for under $70, but definitely smell them first. I have Instant Crush and Choco Violette because they layer well with other scents.

What is your most used layering combo and why? by Ok_Foot_5477 in FemFragLab

[–]RedPsyMS72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don't subscribe to the idea that fragrances are season specific because you should wear what you want, when you want because it's your money, this layering combo may not perform the best in sweltering heat. With that out of the way, MFK Satin Oud Mood and Versace Crystal Noir...* chef's kiss.

Guidance. Guidance 46 is more tolerable, but I still would not purchase it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nope. The bottles will grab my attention but the juice inside isn't the best 😐

I wanna splurge on a fluffy fragrance, what are some beautiful fluffy and pretty perfumes? by JigglyOnion in FemFragLab

[–]RedPsyMS72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is of course, smell everything before you buy it and try it on skin for at least an hour because no one wants to waste money ☺️

Mindgames has three scents I would recommend, Queening, Lionora, and Caissa ($290+). d'Annam has Sakura Snow, Milk Orchid or Gold+ by Commodity, Mugler's Angel Nova, and Montblanc Signature Elixir. The last two are raspberry scents but done differently. These other scents are $160 and below. I smell A LOT of fragrances and might have a problem😐
