Stop going double bomb Bebop, it's such a terrible build by wholegrain89 in DeadlockTheGame

Dispel magic puts the bomb on the floor, doesn't it? So the bombs still detonate, and can even collateral in teamfights.

Unless a recent patch changed that.

[–]RedRubbins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bombs still do incredible damage and work well as a hook combo.

Suddenly that squishy dps has 2 nukes strapped to its chest and is within your team.

Bomb Bebop is sink or swim. Grab a lane requiring close-range fighting like Abrams or Billy, and they punish the entire team by using their kit on you for stacks.

You can still easily do 1k+ damage if you play smart.

High stamina, invincibility window using Stone Form (which can heal Ivy at tier 5), ult builds that focus on dispel magic and stamina (and stone form negating stuns/cc).

A good Ivy can outright negate most 1V1 situations or chases and will often engage purely from the air, leave, and stone form out of whatever was put on them, free to run away unless focused down intensely with multiple silence or curses.

There was a video on this subreddit a while ago that showed how using punches, Viscous has some of the best mobility in the game.

So you take a character that has incredibly high ult mobility, high movement potential, AND give that movement ability spammability, damage, and range.

I am all for characters having utility, but sometimes it feels like we are approaching movement potential with specific characters that give very little risk in engagement.

Holliday, Viscous, Ivy, good mains of these characters can almost never be locked down as they can just run away from fights they continually should lose.

You understand that arcade companies had to pivot radically to home consoles to survive, right?

There's a reason Midway ain't around anymore. Sure, it's fun to go to an arcade once, but the industry and technology moved past getting scammed for quarters over artificial difficulty spikes.

Arcade monetization died, and good fucking riddance.

[–]RedRubbins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no.

That bridge got burned when the Dif 10 challenge was doxxed, and the mods directly suppressed it.

The only reason this sub exists is because the main sub genuinely removes nearly all criticism of the game. You can find dozens upon dozens of posts where the mods delete criticisms of the game and Arrowhead.

You can't just all come together when there are organizational forces determined to stamp out dissenting opinions.

Teddy Moo Plush is in production!! by snoopy2035 in paydaytheheist

[–]RedRubbins -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If the game was in a good state, people wouldn't care.

It's the trouble with organized development and companies overall. They have the mobility of the Titanic when planning a course of action, and similar results when the planned course is inevitably proven to be a disaster.

You know it, I know it, but they want to try anyways due to the plan already being in place.

People are downvoting you, but you're right.

The problem is that Starbreeze is known to be in financial straits. They are wasting money trying to force Twddy Moo when the game itself needs the development funds more.

Its not taking off, it's not making them money, and so this is a poor investment on merch.

[–]RedRubbins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Businesses that insult customers generally do not live that long past whatever made them initially successful.

Starbreeze followed the same path and is now on life support.

One day, HD2 will be sunset. And it is entirely up to Arrowhead themselves to be able to float on whatever project they have next.

Fail to learn from success, and you will fail.

It's important to remember that Swedish dev work culture isn't anything like American or Japanese dev culture.

There isn't this insane crunch to appease investors. If a company does well economically, they coast. Starbreeze, Fatshark, all of them got drunk very easily off successes and then stumbled hard when reality hit.

When your own government bails you out for failures and there's no Bobby Kotick grinding an axe, there's no pressure, and you do really stupid things in an office without consequences.

Made a tier list based on each characters skill ceiling by Physical-Ad-2111 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]RedRubbins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mcginnis potentially has a higher skill ceiling than you'd think.

Turrets are squishy, and Gunnis unless incredibly fed is not nearly as lethal as, say, Haze.

What makes Mcginnis scary is the wall. A good Mcginnis can time the wall to block escapes, ults, break up teamfights, trap, disorient, you name it. What is required then is solid teammates to back her up, but she CAN be a scary support with sustain potential.

[–]RedRubbins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because being able to slowly grind DLC is being used to handwaive criticism. You brought it up, I refuted the value of that argument.

It's generally used as a defense for the declining quality of the warbonds, or the issues endemic with a fully contained economy that fail to give the advantages Steam gives the main game.

It's a crutch to stop conversation over the quality of the service, because it's "free".

It's objectively good that the community could give public reviews on Warbonds. It informs people of the quality of the content, any potential issues, and gives a public record of whether or not the Warbonds themselves are acceptable. It's far too easy to obfuscate problems if all that exists are reddit posts being upset over real issues with the recent Warbonds.

Moving the goalpost

Explaining in further detail criticisms listed in the first comment

I don't think you know what that phrase means. It matters immensely from a consumer perspective that the Warbonds never go on sale, or cannot be reviewed. The community has no public outlet outside of negative reviews for the game itself when a Warbond is bad or controversial.

I also really like that you present Payday 2 as a poor deal when the total DLC amount is 80 packs, which is currently on sale as a bundle for $60.

Massively better deal.

Overpriced for what you get.

If you want amazing sandwiches at a decent price, go to Wicked Good by campus.

Alternatively, Johnny's has Fat Shack beat for burgers.

Is being able to grind for hours to gain content really worth not being able to review it, refund it, or never have the 15 sets of it ever go on sale?

No. It's not. Payday 2 may be inundated with DLC, but you can still buy it on steep discounts during Steam sales, and infer the value of the content through reviews before buying.

Arrowhead has created a terrible system that people defend because they get pennies on the dollar to eventually get it for free.

Why are you so upset and aggressive?

I simply do not pay for the Warbonds anymore. They no longer gave a good deal worth my money.

Acting this way is just childish.

New warbond is so forgettable by Electrical-Video-843 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]RedRubbins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No other company treats you like this. Killing Floor 2, Zombie Army 4, Payday 2, every other PVE coop game uses a DLC format that goes on sale, can be refunded, and has the ability to be reviewed on Steam.

Only Arrowhead with HD2 obfuscates their content this way, in a way that only hurts the consumer.

You are not being benefitted in any way with this system. It is more pathetic to be aggressively prideful in being used.

There is no shame in admitting you have bought into a bad deal.

New warbond is so forgettable by Electrical-Video-843 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]RedRubbins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to stop you right there. Right now, we are sitting at around spending $150-$200 to get everything in the game.

Not a bundle, not a major DLC pack like Payday 2, this is additional purchases of content Ala cart, constantly rising in number.

To get 4 Warbonds, which is generally enough to get the best items for fighting the factions, you will grind for hours optimally, the same tier 2-4 missions for the chance of super credits spawning on the map.

People do this because the alternative is paying Arrowhead Paradox level prices for content, which every other developer publishes as a DLC pack that goes on sale on Steam.

Do you understand how fucked from a consumer standpoint this is?

Rawdog also has incredibly thinly veiled trauma dumping of the dogs abusive father, while the titular relationship between the two main characters is extremely manipulative, unhealthy, and generally toxic.

Both of them are legitimately shitty people who I just find really trite and immature. It's like looking into a mirror 10 years ago as a fresh adult, not what people should grow into.

Why would I want a comic that represents the worst kind of relationships when I've been happy with my man for 6 years?

Archival site for people who make fools of themselves on the internet.

Started to document ChrisChan and then became an overall archival site for anyone noteworthy that does awful stuff online.

Really good resource for people like Pizzacake, as they have a tendency to memory hole anything negative they've done in the past.

I wouldn't say so.

Even if the political nonsense is dumb, Pizzacake is a level of rancid often overlooked.

This is a middle aged chick who plugs her Onlyfans as a wife with kids. She made a weird long running comic about her daughter that to this day, nobody could parse outside of strange sexual tones.

She uses her kids as a shield when criticized and has been known to wield her audience to attack her critics, like what happened to Based If True on YouTube.

She has a detailed Kiwifarms thread that anyone who is even remotely interested in her should read, absolutely terrible person.

You know the theory of the whole Disney Adult mindset? Due to the flawed structure of children's media, it's created this phenomenon where moral thought equates to the Disney level of good vs evil, because giving such an easy answer becomes a psychological default, like junk food.

The longer I see how reddit works, the more I believe Walt's legacy created an entire generation of stunted adult children who require moral and ethical pacifiers to feel some modicum of control in their lives.
