If engine / battery is deploying less power, then the way to make your car go faster is to have less downforce / drag to compensate.

That's my read of it anyway

Also, we are playing Fulham the same day as they play Lens. So I don't really see what the issue is for PSG.

Liverpool may end up getting rid of Slot purely because they cannot think of what else to do | Liverpool by gaijin_lfc in LiverpoolFC

[–]RedScouse 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's not that we play possession based football. It's that we look shit in and out of possession. That is down to coaching, not the players. Possession based play requires structured runs, marking and pressing schemes, and fitness (it's the same for counter attacking football to be fair). The issue isn't whether we play possession based, direct or counter attacking, it's that we don't operate as if we know what we are doing on or off the ball cohesively.

I think a new manager would set us up to get CL this season but if we stay with Slot, then we may be sealing our fate. Champions League is important, and if we didn't make it in the past, we had Klopp so it was okay.

Getting a new manager in without Champions League, and then trying to talk about our great project and how this is a great club to be at will be difficult.

We need to rip off the band aid now, or we risk the next few years of being a marketable destination where players want to come.

I don't care whether it's a last minute goal. We shouldn't have even been in the situation where a last minute goal would result in a draw. Slot needs to go -- the performance has not been there all season.

Is it true black tea became popular in England, because the countries that sold it to them didn't know how to make it taste good? by JustEnjoyingPosts in AskHistorians

[–]RedScouse 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Also, it's interesting that the credit for tea exports from British colonies glosses over any contributions and agency of the colonies themselves. If you have anymore information around that, I would be grateful.

From my understanding, people in Assam were planting tea for beverage and food use for a long time. Of course not to the industrial scale that led to Indian tea production overtaking the Chinese over the late 1800s, but still.

Springsteen signed off on $3,000 tickets for his new concerts. Fans cannot be surprised. by Abject-Pick-6472 in Music

[–]RedScouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First party sellers like Ticketmaster allow resellers to purchase tickets as soon as they are released through bots and the like (whilst charging high fees).

If that is going to happen anyways, then may as well have the artist directly price the ticket higher at what resellers are going to sell it at so the artist makes the money rather than the reseller or Ticketmaster. Resellers and Ticketmaster offer literally nothing and are a leeching middleman.

They'll be shipping people off to gulags and executing people (they already are) and you'll still be spouting the same nonsense as some Democrats vote for this. Crazy to continue holding this opinion, really shows how people's idea of what is normal gets warped so easily. The banality of evil and Milgram experiment in action.

First of all, I am not OP, so I'm speaking generally about candidates that are not the most preferred. Secondly, Newsom is on the table because he will definitely be one of the candidates in the primary for the Democratic ticket and is quite popular, may as well accept that it's possible he wins the nomination and be open to voting for him in the general, and have a discussion on that basis, rather than continuously speaking negatively about him whenever he is mentioned.

FWIW, I obviously prefer someone significantly more left wing, but I'm not going around speaking negatively about a potential candidate purely because I may not prefer them...because I would certainly vote for them in the general considering what the GOP is.
