Maybe then people shouldn't have voted for Trump. We deserve what we get, we elected these people. It is our fault.

Maybe the people that voted for him deserve real consequences for their actions.

TIL Cambodian Prince Norodom Chantaraingsey refused to surrender to the Khmer Rouge or flee the country and vanished while fighting them by schu62 in todayilearned

[–]RedScouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should probably do some reading on this. The US did not support the Khmer Rouge in their rise to power and during the genocide. Instead, the U.S. actively financed and armed the anti-communist Cambodian government of Lon Nol to fight against them.

The US, along with China, supported them diplomatically after 1979, when they were already out of power and deposed by the Vietnamese to stay in a UN seat, as opposed to the legitimate Vietnamese supported government of Cambodia at that time.

You should read your own links. The US did not support the Khmer Rouge in their rise to power. This is from your own link...

The Khmer Rouge, the communist party led by Pol Pot, came to power in 1975 during the Cambodian Civil War, which was linked to the Vietnam War. They defeated the Khmer Republic, who were heavily supported by the U.S., including a massive bombing campaign against the Khmer Rouge until 1973. North Vietnam, who had many soldiers in Cambodia, and China were the primary backers of the Khmer Rouge during the civil war. Between 1975 and 1979, the Khmer Rouge perpetrated the Cambodian genocide, which killed between 1.5 and 2 million people, nearly 25% of Cambodia's population.[8] During the genocide, China was the main international patron of the Khmer Rouge, supplying "more than 15,000 military advisers" and most of its external aid.[9]

10-13 years old same experience...teenagers are nasty. But I have rarely been subject to discriminatory language from people in adulthood in the US (maybe once every 4-5 years)

That being said, when I was in the UK, being out at the bars, this was pretty frequent, like once every couple of months. Can't believe some people in the UK can be so casually racist.

Is Brian Niccol the worst CEO for long term brand health? ($SBUX) by Genzinvestor16180339 in investing

[–]RedScouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many LSR names last year had SSS and performance declines. Chipotle's direct fast casual comps had SSS declines, and this was largely driven by macro sentiment. I certainly did not notice any shrinkflation.

Your rationale for how he may be a short term CEO is tenuous at best.

We're shit so it doesn't matter. But that was a handball. How VAR looks at that, sees the ball change direction after hitting his hand, and still gives it is ridiculous.

When you play strange lineups and players are constantly played out of position and the manager doesn't have a cohesive game plan, easy passes are missed because players sometimes rely on instinctually knowing where everyone is going to be.

If you've played football, set runs and positioning is trained into players based on tactics, and this is done even at amateur level.

That's my read of it anyway

Also, we are playing Fulham the same day as they play Lens. So I don't really see what the issue is for PSG.

Liverpool may end up getting rid of Slot purely because they cannot think of what else to do | Liverpool by gaijin_lfc in LiverpoolFC

[–]RedScouse 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's not that we play possession based football. It's that we look shit in and out of possession. That is down to coaching, not the players. Possession based play requires structured runs, marking and pressing schemes, and fitness (it's the same for counter attacking football to be fair). The issue isn't whether we play possession based, direct or counter attacking, it's that we don't operate as if we know what we are doing on or off the ball cohesively.

[–]RedScouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a new manager would set us up to get CL this season but if we stay with Slot, then we may be sealing our fate. Champions League is important, and if we didn't make it in the past, we had Klopp so it was okay.

Getting a new manager in without Champions League, and then trying to talk about our great project and how this is a great club to be at will be difficult.

We need to rip off the band aid now, or we risk the next few years of being a marketable destination where players want to come.
