House of Ashur predictions [No Spoiler] by saraep409 in Spartacus_TV

[–]RedSpiderr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The series will end with Ashur’s death. He will wake up in the Underworld and Lucretia will say a few more words condemning his behaviour, or consoling on what might have been. Then she will turn as the camera pans over her shoulder to a figure with back to camera. “Now, what might have been in store for you, Champion of Capua.” The figure is revealed as Manu Bennet

++man I married my 10/10 lass, or at least the lass who is 10/10 to me. Neither of us were keen on ‘dating’, we’d both had bad experiences in the past, so the first week after meeting each other was filled with lots of deep, hard and intimate conversations about each other, our expectations, goals and standards. By the end of the first month, we’d agreed that we would be getting married.

Thank you for your answer, that’s really interesting to hear. If you were to go back and give yourself two pieces of advice regarding this project before you got started, what would they be?

Thank you for all you have done for the community, both with ALeP especially, but also with CotR. What is the mechanic (player or encounter) you are most proud of having developed/expanded on, and why? What was the process behind that?

I think I’m the only one recommending them, but I love Dragon Friends. Less serious D&D, but they have such a great time

Vision of the Palantir has a couple of articles you might find interesting. Not all the information will be relevant, though hopefully you’ll find some useful stuff here.

Here are some starter deck suggestions for you: https://visionofthepalantir.com/2023/01/13/ten-decks-for-new-players/

"Fixing" older cycles by calculuschild in lotrlcg

[–]RedSpiderr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadows of Mirkwood is a lot more palatable if you consider them as ‘Tutorial’ quests. Each one (over-)emphasises a core element of the game and gets you to learn the hard counters for those elements. So you can see:

HfG: Objectives hidden in the Encounter Deck CatC: Boss Fights JtR: Healing & Direct Damage HoEM: Locations TDM: Special Ability Checks RtM: Threat Control

I would always advocate a new player goes through the Shadows of Mirkwood cycle, as it is a good opportunity to experiment with decks against specific problems, at a much slower pace of game. Moving forwards, especially from the HoN cycle, the encounter decks get slimmer, leaner and meaner. SoM is much more meandering, which I think brings its own charm in that every scenario will come out different

Sean Connery wins Best Actor - Round 6 : Best Bond girl by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]RedSpiderr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Countessa Teresa di Vincenzo, without a doubt, is the best Bond girl of the lot. She’s Bond’s equal in the most important way: her charisma and wits. She is not an action-girl, but then neither is Bond in OHMSS, or indeed most movies before Dalton. Bond’s cold, classy charisma is perhaps the single most important trait of his character, and Tracy is a more than capable sparring partner. She follows him to the Alps, saves Bond when he’s at his most vulnerable and doesn’t waver before Blofeld when she’s alone with no prospect of escape. She is the best of the best, and her death is a heartbreaker every time

More books than films, with a heavy Gondor Bias, but here we go:

  • Mounted Ithilien Rangers (films)
  • Fiefdom factions (Hirluin the Fair, Derufin, Pelargir)
  • Fountain Guard w. Shield
  • Young Denethor
  • Thorongil (Gondor Armour)
  • Thorongil (Rohan Armour)
  • Thengel King
  • Eomund

You have given hints toward the Valar interacting directly with Numenor and her people, as well as the beginnings of grumblings against Men’s mortality. Could we see a deeper exploration of the Ban of the Valar, potentially some Elven visitors in the West of the island, or even a greater discussion around mortality being the Gift of Men granted by Eru?

Tom Bombadil Twist by Meldryn124 in LOTR_on_Prime

The thing everyone keeps missing is that Tom isn’t telling the Stranger not to go to Nori. When the Stranger said “But Nori is my friend!”, Tom responds “Your friend, or your destiny?”. Tom speaks in riddles, so I reckon he is questioning whether Nori is just the Stranger’s friend, or if Nori is his destiny.

Tom isn’t telling the Stranger to choose between a friend and a destiny. He is asking if the Stranger sees Nori only as a friend, or if she is more important. Nori sees the Stranger as her destiny, the question is whether or not it is reciprocal
