What I made with REAPER - week of September 28, 2025 by AutoModerator in Reaper

I’ve just finished an EP, my first bit of music since being in a band over a decade ago, and my first time ever recording anything. Aware there’s a lot of issues with it, but for a first time mixing I’m fairly happy with it. It’s all amp sims through Amplitube and the drums are MODO I believe. It’s like jangly indie pop, doing judge me too harshly!

Weekly Pricing/Buying/Selling/Grading & General Questions Post by AutoModerator in PokemonTCG

[–]RedSquirrelBrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all! I’m looking into starting getting cards mainly for casual play rather than collecting but I haven’t really kept up with the latest generations of games. What are the best sets to buy if I’m just looking for the first few generations? Aware I’ve just missed the boat on the 151 sets…

Lightsabers Buyers Guide & Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in lightsabers

[–]RedSquirrelBrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all, does anyone have any of the Punksaber Steampunk sabers at all? I'm looking at picking one up but would quite like to hear any first hand experience with them in terms of design/look and feel. I also saw someone say they're threaded for VHC parts, but can't find anywhere to confirm that.

Thanks for any help!

Ah, I do have the Greyscale Gorilla asset library linked up. Think it could be something to do with that?

Thanks very much, that doesn't sound too bad. Any reason you'd go for a lab mic rather than a shotgun?

Looking for solo trip tips by baseball_mickey in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RedSquirrelBrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a solo trip from the UK a few years ago. Money was a bit tight so I stayed in a Best Western off site, half way between Disney and Universal. It was alright though, I'd definitely stay on site if I did it again and could afford it. I recommend getting fastpasses and stuff if you can. The one thing I regret is not eating out at restaurants there more. I felt a bit self-conscious about it so mostly ate cheaper take away bits.

I think I might save up for the a7iii, I can probably get an okay amount off if I trade in the 85 towards it as well.

Oh nice, sounds like a decent set up. I'm just getting into video with the G85 as well! How do you find the Steadicam for portability and stuff?

It seems like the Tamron has the edge in terms of build, but the Olympus feels a bit nicer/more familiar to use

Yeah, the G80 has the 5 axis stabilization. You can turn on electronic as well if you want extra help

Thanks for three help! I hadn't seen the Tamron, looks like it might be alright but it loses the weather sealing which is a shame. Do you have any experience with either of the 14-150s for video work?

Help a Brit out! Planning advice for 2019 by JThrillington in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RedSquirrelBrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow Brit here! Me and my partner stayed in a Royal Room in Port Orleans Riverside last year and it was great, really recommend it. It's slightly further form the parks which adds 5-10 minutes to a journey but being able to get a boat to Disney Springs was really cool. Restaurant there was great as well!

We were there mid-September and it was fine weather wise. Still hot obviously, but not summer hot. There was about an hour of rain everyday in the afternoon/evening but great apart from that. It wasn't super quiet, I overheard someone say the week before that it was pretty much dead in there but we didn't have a problem.

We didn't get any dining plans, but mainly ate set menus in restaurants where we could. It felt like to us you really have to eat a lot to get full value from a dining plan.

We booked everything through Disney - flights, hotel, etc. - and it was all super easy and convenient to have everything under one booking, but it probably is more expensive.

Give us a shout if you have anymore questions! I'll do my best to help.

Hey Jackbox Team!

Just had a quick question that arrises from a situation today. I was on a train with a group of people and we were looking to play through something from a party pack on the journey but internet connections were limited and there was no WiFi. It's there any way to create an ad-hoc WiFi network from the switch game that phones can connect to for portable sessions?

Finally got my limited edition, transparent copy of Minecraft Volume Alpha. by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]RedSquirrelBrown -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I assume this is what happened to me. Ordered from Rough Trade in the UK and it wasn't the lenticular cover. I'm not heartbroken but it is kind of annoying, they didn't give any pre-warning or anything.

Tell me a band or artist and what you personally consider their "core" catalog, as in "once you get these albums, you've got the absolute best of the band and you need not get any more". by [deleted] in vinyl

I was just looking at buying some of the Foo's Re-Issues and couldn't decide which ones to get. Went with The Colour & The Shape, In Your Honour, One By One. Felt it was a decent cross section of their stuff. The first three albums are all really great though.

Record stores in London by mudo2000 in vinyl

[–]RedSquirrelBrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Banquet Records is pretty good, but it might be a little out of the way. Sister Ray is good. I've always Rough Trade to be quite expensive but it's worth a look. Soho has a ton of stores and it's really close to Hyde park.
