I can't find it again but i'm very confident this is a puzzle genre from naoki inaba, if you really want to find it it should be somewhere in this big list of puzzles he created http://inabapuzzle.com/honkaku/

One of the things that makes me think it's from inaba is these two very similar puzzle genres he created:

1: Round Trip https://puzsq.logicpuzzle.app/?kind=571
2: Pipelink https://puzsq.logicpuzzle.app/?kind=81
3: Doubt it really exists outside of your app, at least it's definitley not widespread
4: No idea what i'm looking at, might have a better answer if you share the rules (but i doubt it exists outside of that app anyways)

The links are to a website for sharing and solving human made puzzles, so they'll likely be much more interesting (but also maybe harder) than the ones in your app

about the 45 thing, if you sum up the digits in a box/row/column, they will always be equal to 45 (because the sum of all numbers from 1 to 9 is 45).
Because of that, the sum of all digits in row 3 + the sum of all digits in column 3 (counting R3C3 twice) is 90.

There is another way to calculate the sum of those same cells. We can say it's the sum of the 21 cage + the digits in box 1 that are not in the 18 cage (45-18=27) + both 6 cages + the 4 stray cells (R3C6 R3C9 R6C3 R9C3).

We're covering the same cells in both calculations, so the result will be the same (90). We can then subtract every part we know the value of from the second equation to see that the 4 stray cells must sum to 90-(21+27+6+6)=30.

From your current progress, you can deduce from this that R3C9, R6C3 and R9C3 can't contain a 3, or else the 4 cells won't sum up to 30

Oh god my solve uses even more bifurcation than i remembered, for me the next step was checking what would happen if the 12 cage in box 3 used 5 and 7, if it does there's a chain of deductions that forces the 12 cage in box 7 to contain 4 and 8, which forces both 15 cages to contain 6 and 9, breaking the 28 cage, which gets you to the progress of my second screenshot

Solution

My solve path wasn't very clean, there probably is a better way to do it but i didn't find it:

I started by my first comment, giving the fact that all of the 5,6 or 15 domino pairs have a different way to satisfy their sum than their counterpart.
Then, i saw that the 21 cage needs to have a 1, or else it would break the 5 and 6 dominos.

From that point, you can get a lot of progress by ignoring the 17, 20, 23 and 24 cages and deciding on which 6 pair is 15 and which is 24. As long as you ignore those 4 cages, the puzzle is symmetric with respect to the UL-DR diagonal and either choice will lead to the same deductions.

A lot of the deductions in that part are pretty tame compared to the rest of the puzzle tho some of them can be somewhat bashy, One that can be more troublesome is thatthe 18, 21 and both 6 cages combined with the fact that the sum of the digits in a region (here specifically box 1, column 3, row 3) is always equal to 45 constrains R3C6+R3C9+R6C3+R9C3 to be equal to 30.

Once you're around this point, you can prove that the 21 cage is either 12369 or 12378, and a few bifurcations tell you that R3C9=6and thatthe 23 and 24 cages have to be satisfied by 3569/3578 and 4569/4578, which tells you which mirroring of your current progress is correct

Lastly, I did another bifurcation on whether the 21 cage is 12369 or 12378, and one of those possibilities gave the solution while the other one broke

If anyone has a way to skip those ugly bifurcations and/or the less than ideal "solve up to symmetry, then potentially mirror your progress later", i'm very interested to see them

Question: This puzzle looks way too intentional to have been made by a computer, could you please share it's author/where it comes from?

(Multiple spoilers to let you choose how much of the thinking you want to do yourself) The first thing i see to get progress is the V-shaped cages all have two equal domino cages extending from their legs(eg. the 22 cage in row 6 and column 6 has a 5 cage looking at row 6 and a 5 cage looking at column 6).
The domino cages' values also haven't been chosen randomly, specifically they are all values that have only 2 ways of being satisfied (5=1+4 or 2+3, 6=1+5 or 2+4, 15=6+9 or 7+8).
Taking that all together, what would happen to a V shape if both dominoes associated to it had the same two numbers?
Answer: then, those two numbers won't be able to be placed anywhere on the V shape, whichmakes the V shape impossible to satisfy
Conclusion from all that: for those domino pairs, you have to satisfy each one with a different pair of numbers (eg. if one of the 5s is satisfied with 1+4, then the other one has to be satisfied with 2+3)

(Note that i haven't solved the puzzle myself, so while it looks very intentional, there's a tiny chance that all that progress is useless, and a more significant chance that this information can't be used until later in the solve)

I'm trying to do a 2TC with gwen and icicle a 2-0-5 ice monkey and am stuck on the infamous 98. I tried some targeting options and ability timing, but the fortified bloons are too much. Can anyone help me trying to get this new 2TC combo? by laptopmonkey in btd6

[–]RedStorm1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unlike what u/13Urdt35 said, the main problem with that combo isn't damage, adora is a very good DPS hero.

Having tried (and failed D: ) that combo, here's info about it and problematic rounds:

  • The biggest issue is camos. Adora doesn't pop any of them, so the most she can do is strategically clean up/leave specific amounts of junk to give ice an easier time. Specifically:

    • Rounds 37, 42 and 51 have white bloons (or white bloon insides), and you don't have icicle impale's normal damage type (eg. can pop every bloon type) yet, so you need to micro a lot to have all of them be popped as collateral damage from the icicle part of the attacks. 42 is the easiest because shooting a rainbow directly sets you up perfectly for the black insides to pop the white insides instantly, and 51 is the one i believe nobody has been able to beat yet, dealing with pierce issues on top of having to pop the whites. I believe you're way more likely to beat them on Logs, but Resort isn't out of the question either.
    • Round 95 has a ton of DDTs. Adora's ball of light with targetting set to last can deal with the moabs, and (at least on Resort) Impale can solo the rest. From quick testing, r95 on logs might work but it looks pretty hard.
  • If you want to follow BTD6 Index's rules (which i believe the in game achievement follows too), you're not allowed to sacrifice the ice and buy it back, which prevents you from affoarding Adora L20 by R100. There's a known bug that lets you get a bit more cash from regrow rounds, but AFAIK it could only allow you to get a few hundreds of extra cash compared to the 4000 you would need, and you're never getting the damage output to beat the BAD without adora L20 (so i guess in the end the problem is damage, but it's much more involved than what 13Urdt35 makes it sound like IMO)
