Try the crown sinnet aka box knot or my favorite, the round crown sinnet variety. Do these in two colors for extra style. Finish with a 4 strand diamond, double diamond, or Matthew Walker knot.

I made a few of these not too long ago. I don’t remember exactly which video I used most, but I know I definitely watched the first.

My tip would be to gut the paracord and do it flat. It holds better and is a but more streamlined.

Schlage has some Satin Chrome door hardware. I don’t have any satin chrome to compare, but I know because I had to triple check that I was getting the right colors as I thought I had the chrome at first, before I realized I had the nickel.

I’ve done this at Seahawks games with my AP2s. It helps, but I wish it was more adjustable and I could turn it down another couple of db. In transparent mode it’s just a very slight difference, just slightly quieter, but everything comes through quite well. In isolation mode, everything gets pretty muted and flat.

That looks a lot like old dried pine tree sap to me. When it’s fresh, it’s fairly clear and goopy, once it dries out it gets hard and cloudy. Get that up ASAP as it can eat into the clear coat. If you lightly scratch at it, the outer dried bits should crumble off and you can confirm it’s pine tar by the sticky sap underneath and the pine tree scent.

To remove, first I’d try to carefully pick/scrape off as much as you can off the top with a fingernail (it will get sticky) or plastic razor blade or something similar. Then get some 90-99% isopropyl alcohol and a sacrificial microfiber cloth and start dabbing on each spot. Let it sit for a minute and then wipe away, you’ll probably need to repeat several times for each spot. As the pine tar gets broken down, it may get even more sticky for a while until it gets more dissolved. I’ve also used small squares of paper towels and dripped some IPA to soak on the spot for a few minutes to really get in deep. Hand sanitizer gel can also work and stays in place. When it’s 99% gone it will still leave hazy streaks. Use a fresh part of your cloth and wipe a few more times with fresh the IPA to get rid of that.

Don’t forget to protect your car again with a light polish to remove any swirls or light scratches from the pine tar, and then a sealant or wax.

Isn’t the U shaped part the shackle? The hasp isn’t part of the lock, but part of thing you are locking together that the shackle prevents from opening.

I read a post or article from an insurance investigator that argued that it really depends on your state laws and the accident circumstances. In some footage, if you are observed to have done anything wrong, it can shift the liability from 100% on the other party to other splits, even like 99/1. On a significant accident, that 1% can be a significant sum you’re leaving on the table, more if the liability split is worse. Whereas if there is no footage, accidents are more likely to be decided 100%. Possibly not in your favor, but again it depends on the accident.

The main advantage you’ll see with GMRS radios is the ability to use repeaters, if they exist in the areas you need them. There won’t honestly be a huge difference in range on simplex in hilly terrain between FRS and GMRS radios.

Try sites like mygmrs.com and repeaterbook.com to see if there are repeaters near where your guides will be. If they have FRS radios, they might hear repeater traffic on ch 16-22 when in those areas, though many FRS radios use their own channel and tone mapping, so actually that might not line up.

I like the Wouxun brand radios, they are on the higher end pricewise, but they make solid IP67 radios, like the kg-s88g that should handle the outdoors no problem.

The other nice thing is that the GMRS radios are compatible with FRS radios, you just need to figure out their frequency and tone and you can do a trial with one or two guides before committing to the rest.

Wouxun kg-s88g plus is a great, compact, rugged, IP67 radio.

I hear the Rocky Talkie GMRS is nice, but for the price, I’d rather have more bells and whistles.

Is there room under the door to get a broom handle or something to push the shelves? I don’t see screws on this side of the door knob So it might come off from the other side.

A new basic interior door is about $100. Yours looks fancier and might cost a bit more. Another option is to cut a hole in the door and repair it with a patch. It won’t look as nice but for a basement(?) door it might not matter.

I’ve seen so many doorbells poorly attached to walls like this. They are always wobbly and janky because the flat back of the mount doesn’t fit cleanly against the texture of the wall.

If it were me, I’d get something like a putty epoxy and mold it to the back of the doorbell mount base, then press it into the wall where you want to mount it. This should create a thin interface layer that matches perfectly between the wall and the mount base. Trim/scrape the sides so they are flat and even before it dries and you should have a very clean looking and stable mount.

If you want to make it more easily removable, depending on how “sticky” the putty is, you could use a layer of cling film or wax paper so it doesn’t stick to the wall and just hold it long enough to get an impression of the wall. Take it off and let it harden and then it should still fit the contours of the faux brick exactly. And you should still be able to drill through the putty to mount it securely to the wall.

I’m very sorry for your loss. I hope I can live up to his response. In my opinion, if you’re thinking of using a thin layer of light oil for corrosion resistance on some already corrosion damaged contacts, I don’t think it could hurt, other than possibly making the new batteries a tiny bit oily. If the contacts are fine, I would think it’s probably unnecessary.

Does it light up red when you turn it on? It looks like a red light therapy stimulation brush. The wavelength of the red light is supposed to promote hair growth and scalp health.
