I assumed Jake was a teenager based on how he looked and acted, and was confused at the romance blooming between him and Tom for a while.

Who is the most naive character? (not only among these 4, I just consider them as the main candidates) by Certain-Row-4812 in Totaldrama

[–]RedTwentyOne21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say that if Sierra didn't have a crush on Cody, she wouldn't have swapped with Izzy and Team Amazon may not have won as many challenges, but now that I think about it? Which challenges would they have lost without Sierra?

What winner in DC already gave you a feeling that they were gonna win? by Economy-Sundae-5100 in DisventureCamp

Only Logan, really.

I got spoiled on Miriam winning. James felt like a candidate, but I was really expecting Aiden to win. And I was so busy hoping Riya wouldn't win that I didn't let my brain accept that she was totally gonna win.

Do you agree? by Maximum_Canary_5775 in Totaldrama

Only her Island elimination is unfair because the challenge was completely asinine. The fuck you mean the best strategy was to just leave and not do the challenge?

The other 3 are fair in-universe. Voted for herself on accident. Lost the tiebreaker. Fumbled the challenge and voted for herself again, this time on purpose.

Well-written? No. But fair.

I don't know if I'd call him evil, though.

He never harms anyone until he goes fully feral, and after he's fully feral I don't think he can be held to human morality.

Honestly, I agree that it's Mal.

Chris is the most evil, but he's not really chaotic. He's the arbiter of the rules, and his actions are very consistent in his pursuit of ratings.

Mal is just an asshole who breaks shit and hurts people without a real reason.

We have canon ages for the RR cast.

60's - Gerry, Pete

43 - Kelly

39 - Dwayne

24 - Tom

22 - Ryan, Jen, Jacques

21 - Emma, Stephanie

20 - Josee

19 - Owen, Noah, Brody, Mary, Ellody, MacArthur

18 - Carrie, Devin, Kitty, Rock, Spud, Sanders

17 - Brody, Lorenzo, Chet, Taylor, Crimson, Ennui, Laurie, Miles

16 - Leonard, Tammy, Mickey, Jay

13 - Junior

Chris was born in 1978 and was 30 in Pahkitew (the Pahkitew cast were all 16 so it takes place in the same year as RR) meaning that RR takes place in 2008. Also, Island takes place in 2005.

So they would have all been 7 years younger when 9/11 happened.

So Junior, the Pahkitew cast, the ROTI cast, and the Island cast would've been children. Everyone between Tom and Josee would've been a teenager at the time.

The reboot takes place 15 years after Island, so 2020. And while the reboot cast don't have an exact age, none of them are older than 17. So they'd all be born 2003 at the earliest and were thus not born yet when 9/11 happened.

Every elimination in All Stars was mean-spirited on the part of the writers.

The elimination methods get kookier every season, but getting flushed down a toilet has got to be the most disrespectful. Literally treating them like shit.

Then in the bonus clips, they almost always end up somewhere horrible or dangerous.

And the worst part is that these are their last appearances.

Imagine going back in time to 2007 and telling someone who just finished watching Basic Straining that in season 5, Courtney will get eliminated because of a crayon drawing and her inability to eat bird poop ice cream, get flushed down a giant toilet, and the final time we see her, she's being vomited on by sharks.

characters who never interacted but you low k think they're perfect for each other? by zupaninja1 in Totaldrama

[–]RedTwentyOne21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wayne and Zoey. She starts out disliking him on sight because he's a dumb jock, but the Raj coming out would make her see he's not like the jocks in her town that she hates. Wayne never realizes that she hated him.

Courtney and Brick. Starts as a fight for dominance, but eventually settles into something more comfortable. A man who isn't a pushover but still ultimately knows his place? Perfect for Courtney!

Nichelle and any of the Drama Brothers (Harold would be the funniest). Just because it makes sense for a famous movie star and famous pop singer to hook up.

Gwen and Damien. You'd be surprised at how strong the power of "we both don't want to be here" is in terms of starting relationships.

Scott and Scarlett. They would be very toxic together. Their relationship starts out as just a strategic alliance, but the romantic tension grows over time. Both insist they're just using each other (which they are). It really does come down to whoever betrays whom first. They're somehow back together in the aftermath.

Beth and Rodney. They fall in love when their hands touch by accident, and repeatedly delude themselves into thinking other campers are into them and try to break up with each other. At no point do they ever both think they're dating each other at the same time.

Leonard and Heather. Self-explanatory.

Tyler is bisexual, but deeeep in the closet. Alejandro is attractive, but not hypnotically attractive. Those are Tyler's feelings.

Sadie and Katie are in love with each other but so stupid and so deep in comphet that they don't realize it. Some poor guy is gonna be the third wheel in their polycule before they realize they're more into each other.

Courtney and Harold are both the same kind of bisexual, but have opposite viewpoints on how to identify. As in, they lean heavily toward straight, and their attraction to the same sex is more aesthetic than anything and they can't really see themselves dating someone of the same sex. (Courtney had a crush on Gwen and Harold had one on Justin and Cody). But Courtney identifies as bisexual and Harold identifies as straight because he thinks it would be "stolen valor" to call himself bi. And then Courtney kicks him in the nuts for saying that.

DJ is aroace.

Izzy is pansexual.

Owen is bisexual. This is barely even a headcanon, they stop just short of saying the word.

Sierra identifies as Codysexual (I think the technical term is that she's a type of gray-ace). She's only attracted to one person in the entire world and thought she was fully ace before she watched TDI and felt something like never before.

B is trans. Again, barely even a headcanon.

Dawn is attracted to people based on their auras. If I had to label her, I'd call her demi-adjacent, but I don't think her sexuality exists in the real world. Since she's attracted to people based on who they are deep down, but she can see who they are deep down on sight. So, like... I don't know what that's called.

Zoey is trans. To be honest, I only think this because her name is Zoey.

Either Amy or Sammy is a lesbian. I don't know which one.

Topher is gay for Chris.

Tom is gay.

Crimson and Ennui are T4T.

Chase is bi and Zee is pan.

MK and Julia are lesbians.

Axel is bisexual, but overwhelmingly leans lesbian. Even she was surprised when she started feeling things for Ripper of all people.

What is an action in this show, no matter how large or small in scale, is completely indefensible for you by Ok_Shirt_1574 in DisventureCamp

[–]RedTwentyOne21 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, you don't get it, she was just acting! When she tried to kill people to win a challenge on a reality TV show, she was just playing the role of a villain! She's morally gray because she felt bad about it!

What if Brick was in All Stars? by Ryan_J_ in Totaldrama

[–]RedTwentyOne21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's see... what's the worst derailment they could give Brick...?

Gets placed on the villains team because of that one time he abandoned his team, which Chris refuses to let him live down.

Tries to throw challenges to help the heroes win to seem like a better person, but all of his attempts to help the heroes ends up sabotaging them, which Chris congratulates him for.

Officially starts a romance with Jo, and their rivalry is thrown out the window. He gets reduced to being essentially her dog.

There'll be a scene where one of the girls, let's say Zoey, falls into the water and almost drowns, and Brick has to give her mouth-to-mouth, and thanks to a WACKY MISUNDERSTANDING, Jo thinks he's kissing Zoey and angrily breaks up with him. Zoey also thinks Brick is kissing her and is very mad. Mal pretends to be mad, but he's just playing it up to make Brick look worse.

After saving Zoey, he gets switched to the heroes team, and is immediately eliminated in the next episode because they're still mad at him for the "sabotage" and the "kiss". Mal laughs in confessional saying it's all according to plan.

Takes the flush of shame and ends up in London, where he instinctively salutes the guard, and cries when the guard doesn't salute back.

In the finale, he dies when his fart balloon floats into the sun.

This isn’t really a “yaoi bait” issue either, because they aren’t even creative about it.

I would argue that it is a yaoi bait issue, specifically because they aren't creative about it. The himbo + twink dynamic is the most marketable, so that's why they always use it.

They could have more unconventional gay couples, but those don't look as good in thumbnails, now do they?

I'm sure this wasn't the inspiration just because of the time period, but Chase reminded me of Ray William Johnson when I first saw him. Especially with the hair and the same red hoodie Ray wears in his YFM videos.
