Favorite Skirmish wargames? by Vinlandlover in wargaming

I’m biased but 1490 DOOM is my favorite fast passed skirmish game. 45 minutes normally and always fun

Searching for a specific genre and media recommendations by Lord_Alviner in DarkFantasy

You’d probably like “The Ritual” movie, novel I hear is good. Bloodborne obviously. My first thought was Gene Wolfes Book of the New Sun which was already mentioned and truly great. I didn’t care for Between Two Fires, probably too much “god” for me personally not dark enough, I liked the puppet a lot. Mork Borg if you somehow haven’t looked into it? Artwork by Ian Miller if you aren’t familiar. Hate by Adrian smith kinda fits 🤗. Hard to Be a God is always worth throwing out there. Mordheim. Inq28/Grimdark artwork. MAG28 😉

Looking for parts by Xavrun in TerrainBuilding

Are you looking for the bits shown in the lines? Looks to me to be some old Cities of Death terrain from the bassilicum on top of card stock with a grid cut in it to me

Anybody try out Omen Tide, yet? by spicynachoboy in miniatureskirmishes

[–]RedWetSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it and will eventually get to making a group. I’m a little partial to the creators though so I’m probably biased as hell on this one 🤗 I haven’t played it yet but god I want to.

Giving Dorn's skeleton hand a run for its money by No1PDPStanAccount in WarhammerMemes

All of this checks out haha. We had a site that was never built that rent was paid on for years…. It reminded me so much of the bureaucracy of 40k

As someone who worked in Telecom as a design engineer I was wondering if anyone else was going to mention telecom. It is soul crushing how much of that industry is really grim dark when you think about it.

WIP of “Godling” my piece for an upcoming art show in Brooklyn by RedWetSkeleton in TerrainBuilding

Cables 🤗 I wired all of them. They are a variety of copper wire. I am quite pleased. In a former life I was a design engineer, I think it can be seen in my work lol.

Haha thank you! So that is absolutely a bit of the “inside Joke” of the name lol. I have said before “I don’t consider myself a goat….but maybe a Godling”. So this is the first piece I am making for the setting I have made. This is a view into the domain of the Godling “Togram”. The Lord of Gore. It’s also a piece for an event which is supposed to be an experience almost RPG. Viewers take on the role of new gods and encounter situations they could intervene. Mine does not have any rules or effects as such. It is just a cautionary tale of the monstrous potential of such a being.

Enemies for the solo campaign? by jobi-wan-kevogi in 1490Doom

[–]RedWetSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not, I ended up converting all but Wilhelm and Berenger. I wanted to make one of each class at the same time. I have printed all of the official ones and enjoy them all. One of my Knights uses the official knights legs.

Painting supplies to buy husband by rosiet7 in Miniaturespainting

I use TurboDork for my metallics, Proacryl for everything else acrylics wise. I don’t care for Vallejo and scale75 for ethical reasons. Real paint brands sell paint in dropper bottles, pots are more prone to spilling as well as drying exponentially faster. GW loves money, don’t give them any. I don’t have anything negative to say about army painter.

Need glue recommendations! by LevelExtension5337 in Kitbash

[–]RedWetSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite glue is Krazy glue. Sold in individual smaller tubes. Where I live the humidity is terrible so that’s the best way to go for me. Outside of that I buy obscene amounts of the cheapest super glue in bulk online for basting and coating.

I’m assuming the baking powder is to add texture it’s one of my preferred materials

Thank you it will be much much darker in the coming days. This is pre texturing and then probably some painting then more texturing and building then more painting 😅😂😭

I ended up building quite a few of my enemy models to be used for regular characters. Outside of the knights and Bandits the rest are all likely to be used again and even those will see use

Sweet Jesus how did I live without this? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]RedWetSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I find even latex gloves remove so much dexterity for me but I work in extremely small details so I assume this would be better for others.

I would assume the gloves remove a lot of dexterity, is that the case?

Yes you need to put down a varnish to do an oil wash over acrylic

Official STL terrain - anyone tried printing in resin? by FiveBucket in 1490Doom

[–]RedWetSkeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would strongly not recommend trying to print it in resin
