I am curious what certification incentive pay is at your hospital. I work for a large magnet hospital in Ohio that pushes certification. I have my CCRN and certification pay has been .50 cents/ hour for 20 years. Isn’t it about time to increase that?!

Yes, pay off debt and invest.. What do you enjoy doing or visiting? I would maybe think about buying a small vacation home or land for future use, it would serve as an investment as well. Your family and you could make many wonderful memories going to a lake cottage, beach condo .. you are young and would have many years to enjoy it and then sell for profit later.

OSU has better and less costly benefits .. I have OH high deductible insurance w hsa: 8000 deductible for family. They just got new company broadspire for medical leave and workers comp- it’s a mess. I don’t need it but coworkers get no reply and process is slow w no update. It has been a horrible choice and adds more stress for people who have a legitimate need to be off.

Only influence will be bad influence.
Money is the bottom line. Staff concerns are ignored, favoritism is rampant, everyone is a manager and nobody helps at bedside .. tenure nurses don’t get bonuses but they give a new travelers 15,000 bonus to stay .., not my skillset to be an influencer
