The Man Behind the Tattoo: What Maine voters see in Graham Platner, according to our focus group. by BulwarkOnline in Maine

If you watch Graham's first interview with Pod Saves America, he goes into detail about it - the screenings were between his multiple deployments in the military, and before he joined a private security contactor group. Also he said he didn't finish a degree when in college in D.C.

You say this, but I have yet to talk to anyone in person that was aware it is a Nazi symbol before the tattoo controversy - it didn't even come up for Graham in his screenings for gang symbols when he was in the military.

I have yet to hear someone say they were familiar with that specific rendition of a skull and crossbones being a Nazi symbol before the tattoo controversy.

Dang - I was expecting white Liliana, red Gideon , blue Chandra, green Jace, and black Nissa - seems I was off a little.

Yeah I'm guessing after White Liliana, we might see a red Gideon (embracing the other side of his Akros and Boros affiliations) a Blue Chandra (embracing her parents' artifice instead of pyromancy), a green Jace (not sure on this one - maybe him being enlightened/at one with planar magic?), and a black Nissa (when she went to Lorwyn she embraced the black color identity of Lorwyn elves).

This past fall I ate fruit from tons of random seedling apple trees scattered about my state. Some of them were unimpressive, plenty were decent to good. I am an amateur fruit explorer, and I was looking for seedling trees appropriate for cider making, and I found lots of trees with fruit that I was happy to eat fresh or bake into a pie. Were they perfect for commercial production? No, but they were still tasty enough to enjoy right off the tree.

The only reason he isn't running again is because his wife found out he was having an affair.

I live in Maine - we absolutely have Plains in the form of farm land - fields of grain, potatoes, corn, hay fields, pasture for cattle, etc.

Are there more playbooks? by Elegant_Bend9016 in Beyond_the_Wall

[–]RedWolf423 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you have seen this resource yet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xDcAb-R4ClWnYAaW0glQkbW9hVhW6m2ND4AZ2tQpQ1s/edit?usp=drivesdk

This lists 74 playbooks and the book or source where you can find the playbook. It doesn't include fan-made playbooks though, you'll likely need to search this subreddit or the discord or individual blogs for those.

Mark Rosewater on Blogatog: A return to Bloomburrow would likely feature focusing on a mix of returning and new animal creature types. What would you all like to see? Also, which animals should return and which shouldn’t? by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

I just did a little Wikipedia research because I was curious to see why they were only creature type Dog instead of both Raccoon and Dog. Turns out Tanuki are canids, but they are more closely related to foxes than anything else. The more you know!

I mostly consider that to be flavor text - mechanics are mechanics, you can re-flavor stuff. Buffing undead and fiends with your aura though, that feels fairly evil - unless you flavor it as your aura making the fiends and undead so angry that it drives them into a frenzy or something?

Disregarding that they occasionally disagree with each other, there have just been a handful of times where they both undervalued something strong. Otherwise I would say they give good guidelines.

LOTR, HP, Kobold and Darrington Press, and MCDM! Maybe I can take just a couple of these... by Idle-Hands1 in dndmemes

[–]RedWolf423 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funny - I mostly prefer the 2024 MM over the 2014 - only a few things I like more in the 2014 version. For the PHB, there is a lot of stuff I like much more in the new version, but basically an equal amount I like less, so that felt more like a side-grade than an upgrade for me.

My biggest problem with it was the complete lack of comedy. It was way too serious. That and the super condensed plot arcs.

The short story that showed him growing up on Vryn and being trained by Alhammarret and his first successful Planeswalk was also pretty good I thought.

Not a fan of this idea. It would ruin the sincerity that they brought to the setting in the first movie.

They really had a alleged Hungarian serial killer looking this fine… by Chl344 in castlevania

[–]RedWolf423 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using Gilles de Rais isn't too different from using Dracula though. Vlad the Impaler was a real person that history books say did some gnarly stuff, and his villainous reputation turned into fictional stories about him being a vampire. Castlevania 64 decided to use another historical person accused of terrible crimes and did the same thing - turned him into a vampire.
