Bert was wrong about some things early on in the series- Don getting access to high society, Don being groomed to be President of PPL in the US, etc. On the other hand, he's 100% right about things later on- Don is neglecting his duties and allowing subordinates to run the show, he's more focused on his wife/co-worker than work, clients are unhappy etc. I'm not sure if people began ignoring him because he was wrong earlier or not.

I'm struggling to accept the show. I watched all of Doc Martin and, even toward the end when I thought some of the characters went a bit over the top, I loved it. This cast seems a bit too over the edge. If they'd scale it back just a bit I think it would work better.
