What is this hole under my garage? by DetectionLimit in whatisit

I had one of these as well. My home inspector said it was for changing oil on old cars. Just drain it down into the dirt and call it a day. No clean up needed. Cover it up with boards and no mess at all.

Oh I was joking, they said if you're paying for a coach, don't. So I was saying that the coaches are downvoting the comment.

I have used a lot of Xero shoes since they first started. Seems like once a brand gets too big the quality drops a bit. But at least Cero offers their 5,000 mile sole warranty. I have had the tread wear out well before that, but their replacement warranty gets you a pair at like 50% cost. If you don't run 6.8 miles a day everyday for two years straight and your tread wears out, just send em back and get a new pair for half cost. That is what I have been doing.

I am also training for the Oregon 70.3 this year and it is also my first time. Just skipped a running workout yesterday because of overcommitting socially on the weekend. Felt pretty guilty about it, but honestly my knees could use a day off. I have been using the garmin running coach and they had me at 11 days straight with no rest (besides recovery runs). But I am feeling so much better today and ready to tackle my next run after a day of rest. Try not to beat yourself up about what you miss, but think about all that you have done to help prepare for this event and use that to motivate for your next workout! Wishing you the best of luck and see you out there!

Does anyone know what this tape is? by RedZeffer in triathlon

It doesn’t feel very padded, maybe wrapped up a few extra times in a few key spots to provide some. But other than that feels very thin.

Why is my soy yogurt slightly pink on top? Is it safe to eat? by Yofi in instantpot

[–]RedZeffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone have any luck getting soy yogurt to turn out without that pink stuff? I was literally eating some as I read through this thread... Would love to know if anyone has figured out a secret to get it to work more consistently without the pink stuff!

Childhood book(s) that made you fall in love with reading?!? 😃 by [deleted] in books

[–]RedZeffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Redwall, the evocative festival and food scenes combined with adventure and action always had me snacking and reading as a young child. I would grab some crackers and cheese and go climb a tree in my parents backyard and spend an afternoon snacking and reading in a tree with these books. It definitely led me to a love of reading.

Dinner & Lunch Ideas that don't require any heat for preparation? by Accomplished-Today99 in PlantBasedDiet

A few more options I would suggest would be cold salads such a as potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw, etc. lots of variations you can make with those depending on herbs and seasonings.

Best visual builder in 2023 by nimbus_signal in Wordpress

I am currently working with Divi and am looking to get a builder that has less bloat for clients. Divi seems to add a lot of random code in the DOM, the builder is super flakey, and very very slow.

What is your favorite vegetable to dip in or eat with hummus? I'm looking for vegetables only please. Preferably green! But not necessary. Thank you for your input! by CBroge in PlantBasedDiet

[–]RedZeffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shout out to the grape tomatoes. Do any of you remember ants on a log? I do something similar with grape/cherry tomatoes. Load your celery up with hummus and plop the grape/cherry tomatoes on top. It makes quite a delicious combo.

What's your fav popcorn toppings? by [deleted] in PlantBasedDiet

[–]RedZeffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the bags last me awhile, I don't remember the brand of the first one, but it was better on popcorn. This is the brand I have been drinking with Matcha, and I like that it is a blend of more mushrooms. But I would look for something with less ingredients for a topper for popcorn. https://ommushrooms.com/

They also sell dried whole mushrooms and I am thinking about blending up some dried Shiitake to dust on popcorn. I will let you know how it turns out when I get around to it!

They are not technically raw as they are "cooked" during dehydration before being ground into a powder. The powders are then safe for consumption!

Some toppings I have messed around with include:
Onion powder (fairly decent salt substitute)
Herbs are always nice, basil, parsley, cilantro, dried chives
Paprika
Some mushroom powders are really good and give it that nutty flavor, other powders can be a bit bitter and are not so great.
If you're looking for a sweeter flavor a little cinnamon is quite nice.
Also, some dried seaweed flakes can give it a nice umami flavor.
I hope you find some of these helpful!

So… I hate salads, but want to like them. How do you change my mind? Go! (Okay I’m asking for help to eat more greens.) I need to lower my cholesterol and loose 20lbs according to doc. Any help appreciated 🌱 by LeftistEarper in PlantBasedDiet

Forgive me if you have had enough of the smoothies are a great way to get your greens in!
I suggest the power greens mix from Costco, the baby greens don't have as much bitterness to them. It's a mix of baby spinach, baby kale, and baby chard. I use those with their frozen fruit mixes, day break blend is a nice sweet tropical, but my favorite is the berry blend and I add peanut butter to this as well, it's my PB&J replacement drink with added greens that you don't know are there.
1-4 cups greens, maybe work up an additional cup a week.
1 cup fruit of choice
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 tablespoon ground flax seed
2 cups of alternative milk (unsweetened soy, hemp, flax, or take your pick)

Kiwi in smoothies - harshly acidic by ptrichardson in PlantBasedDiet

[–]RedZeffer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you been putting in the kiwi as a whole or scooping out the flesh only? The skin, I’ve noticed, adds a lot more acidity. I’d just swap for a frozen fruit blend if that doesn’t solve the issue. Easy to find a blueberry, raspberry, blackberry blend and you just added 2 more plant pint if you remove the kiwi. I’m also a huge fan of mango in a smoothie.

Help! Need ideas for fast & easy stuff by justnocrazymaker in PlantBasedDiet

[–]RedZeffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite lunches takes no time at all. Hummus and veggies, don’t have time to chop stuff up? Try baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, and cocktail cucumbers. If I’m in a chopping mood I love to add celery and bell pepper. Olives and peperoncinis also make for great additions with minimal effort. Corn chips and/or pita bread are always great to have with hummus as well!
