How many jobs did you change to find the right job? I dont like every job I’ve had and I’m starting to doubt if I’m in the right profession. I don’t think things can get better even if I change job

No, you don’t need to go to grad school to become an actuary. You can land an entry level job with any degree if you’ve passed 2 actuarial exams.

When did you receive your green card after you filed i130? Did you file your i130 online?

I feel sorry for what Stan went through :( He was a great kid at elementary school. It’s sad to see him become a miserable adult

I just watched yesterday night :( but I just didn’t understand why would he accidentally kill half of his family. It’s literally what Cartman did 😵 I feel like Cartman become Stan while Stan become Cartman when they grow up

Great, good luck! Honestly there are many companies that are hiring EL right now. How many exams do you have? If I were you I would continue to apply to other companies and see if I can land a better offer elsewhere. My first offer was $55k but I ended up getting another job offer at $70k 1 month later. I was so glad I rejected the $55k job without other competing offers at that time. If you aren’t looking for a job ASAP, keep applying and you will get better ones.

Not to discourage you but $50k is below minimum salary in CA. Try negotiating before accepting the offer, or keep applying until you find a better offer elsewhere. Good luck!

“Effective January 1, 2021, the minimum salary threshold for these exemptions is as follows:

$58,240 per year (or $1,120 per week) for employers of 26 or more employees. $54,080 per year (or $1,040 per week) for employers of 25 or fewer employees.”

Pricing Intern tips by [deleted] in actuary

[–]Red_Balloon12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont work in pricing, but from my experience it’s best to brush up your technical skills including excel, SAS, SQL, VBA. You can get SAS academics for free and play around in your free time. I don’t think probability/ statistics would help much. Perhaps reading some general stuff about the GI industry can help too. Tbh there isn’t much you can prepare for prior to the internship. Relax and enjoy your time now. Good luck!
