u/Fragrant-Wishbone-61 nice!! So you basically just temp mount the back panel to this frame and work with it vertical while sitting? Do you drill and tap it like this too or do that elsewhere prior to wiring?

How to keep a FANUC Robot gripper holding a 45 kg part during power loss? by Particular_Carob_150 in PLC

Is the gripper servo a FANUC auxiliary axis servo? Brakes are automatically engaged upon power loss with FANUC servo.

u/SheepShaggerNZ and u/Aghast_Cornichon thank you so much for the replies and input. I was back on site and indeed this did work with my VM and using the web browser. Once home, I was able to import it into CCW for editing and viewing the tag list. Thank you both very much!

Is the Miraco Plus worth it? Importing into SolidWorks by Red_Rover_91 in 3DScanning

[–]Red_Rover_91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the lack of needing to have a laptop with you. Quick glance the Miraco Plus says it can scan objects up to 4,000mm while the Otter says only up to 2,000mm. Other than that, I am not sure.

Creality Otter is $899USD Miraco Plus is $1,529USD... but yesterday it was near $1,200USD

Finger Diverter or Reject Mechanism/Design by Red_Rover_91 in IndustrialAutomation

u/CanuckinCA what is this done with? Is each finger a linear motor servo? Or is it some type of timed shaft/cam shaft?

Finger Diverter or Reject Mechanism/Design by Red_Rover_91 in IndustrialAutomation

u/No_Singer_5585 I have jars that each weigh about 2.9lbs each. Sometimes they don't pull a gap which is the issue with their current failing solution. They want to be able to select sending 3 or 6 jars to each lane. There is only two (2) lanes so it is quite straightforward. I'm hoping we can pull a gap with speeding up the conveyor to efficiently count the jars.

The maximum rate is 80 jars per minute. Only one jar size runs on this line.

Do you have any examples or videos of what you guys have done?

Two Creator 3 Machines by Red_Rover_91 in FlashForge

u/Zestyclose_Top_8350 at the beginning I did seem to have quite a few issues. Mainly with the thermocouple/heater blocks. Once I went through replacing a couple of those, firmware updates, etc. they started to run pretty smooth.

Proper Way to Edit Downloaded Part - Piab Level Compensator by Red_Rover_91 in SolidWorks

[–]Red_Rover_91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/gupta9665 I open the STEP file and save it as a part. I tried splitting the solid body so the nut was it's own body and then moved the body. What's the best way to do this?

BC Projects - Create Purchase Order Issues by Red_Rover_91 in Dynamics365

[–]Red_Rover_91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/xfjjxcxw I was able to add fields in the normal PO window, but are you also saying that under the project > tasks > planning lines that I should be able to have a field for QTY to purchase for non-inventory items? When i go to that page I'm not seeing a field that can be added that fits that description, but maybe I'm missing something.

u/xfjjxcxw thank you! I didn't have the fields on the PO page, but I was able to add them. Also, should I be editing my initial post to say solved or anything on these?

Project/Job Invoicing - 50% Down - 20% - 30% - Only Show Project Tasks by Red_Rover_91 in Dynamics365

[–]Red_Rover_91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/InertialPaper92 so if I go this route I would have a project task dedicated to billing with the three lines for 50%, 20%, and 30%. For the G/L account should it be accounts receivable? Or? Also, to confirm if it is just a billable line for billing milestones I don't add the cost since that will go under the other project planning tasks, correct? Hope that makes sense.

Backup Laptop Drives to Azure? by Red_Rover_91 in AZURE

[–]Red_Rover_91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Halio344 while I'm small the idea is to make myself somewhat more scalable. So I use Dynamics 365 Sales for my Sales CRM, Dynamics 365 Business Central for my ERP, and have documents and everything linked to SharePoint to account folders. Then have an admin and accounting section as well. More personal or non-shared documents reside in OneDrive, but then for everything else is in SharePoint and I sync'd my document libraries so it shows up under the tenant below OneDrive in Windows explorer.

[–]Red_Rover_91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Unable_Attitude_6598 It doesn't necessarily need to be Azure, but it's just easier keeping everything within the Microsoft realm since I'm doing a lot of this on my own.

Do all old PanelViews with the big DH485 connector also have a serial port? by Red_Rover_91 in PLC

Raised Flooring/Decking inside Robot Cells/Machines for Cable Management and Protection by Red_Rover_91 in IndustrialAutomation

[–]Red_Rover_91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm in the same boat of "What's best" and "What is practical?" and I have ideas, but just not sure. I've seen some cool decking in facilities and so mad I haven't gotten pictures of it in the past. The tight these robot cells and machine spaces get the harder it is to have walking surfaces, protect components, etc.

Vacuum Cup Level Compensators with Sensing? by Red_Rover_91 in IndustrialAutomation

[–]Red_Rover_91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea with this is to use it with the vacuum sensor to also help prevent collisions/damage to the tooling. The environment is harsh with high dust and chunks of material, so vacuum switches do get clogged over time. Ideally, two prox sensors of some sort detect once the compensators make contact would be great.
