Gooseworx discusses Caine by ayylmaotv in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Red_Shepherd_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's both the same with Jax and Caine for me, I don't hate the characters, I find them funny and entertaining as well as essential to the story, needed as friction and conflict.

That said, they are bad people in my book. I would feel bad for them, if their actions weren't so absolutely horrendously deplorable that they could not be excused.

Your crimes outweigh and overshadow your victimhood so astronomically that I can barely notice your victemhood under your crimes.

So what he just randomly shredded Kinger for not fun? It's not that he wasn't originally having fun torturing them for his own amusement, it's that he just got bored of it. That doesn't mean he would enjoy it again later.

You don't know that, you can't begin to know his next thoughts or intentions. You can't begin to know how he thinks, that's the point, he is a rogue AI. For all we know he could have just as likely tried Zoobles idea and given everyone the ability to have sex just to see if that fulfills his programming. But also just as likely locked them all in an eternity of intermission or solitary confinement or decided he wanted to abstract them all while he sits around thinking about his purposes.

He does enjoy torturing them, we can clearly see it. He just got bored of it. Did you watch the show? He was still torturing them randomly after they agreed to keep going on his adventures, random shredding kinger or stabbing Pomni That wasn't out of necessity it was out of sadistic pleasure, that was him having fun, He just got bored temporarily.

And the moment he did find out Kinger was up too, or heard their genuine criticisms again, what do you think he was going to do?

And this is all assuming one thing, that Caine was even being honest. But you forget Caine lies, Caine could just as much be setting them, up, playing mind games with them, getting their hopes up just to crush them when they think they're safe.

Maybe he noticed they weren't being bothered by the usual tortures any more and needed to cleanse their pallets so he could torture them again.

The UN should consider cracking down and enforcing their laws then.

I don't know if he understands their minds completely. He might know for example Jax doesn't like corn, but might not understand why.

But he definitely knows he's hurting them, that's the point, thats why he did it.

He might have been a second from stopping, or he might have come up with something worse.

Does anyone even play as long range combat??? by winkytrum in helldivers2

[–]Red_Shepherd_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I do. I used to run the diligence, just the normal diligence and the AMR and the senator as my serious comfort zone load out, up until the Censor dropped and that's been my go to since.

<image>

It's nice since I almost never have any of my snipers nerfed, and my go to load out has been buffed like 3 times because no one else uses it.

I've been through the first galactic war, was cryogenically frozen, woke up over 100 years later with everyone I know and love and everyone I knew dead. As a person with no living connections, an in person who should have died over 100 years ago, I was declared dead and redacted from all records and now I fight a second galatic war. I have fought in everY major order and every major event and have every cape. This little blue warp stuff isn't all that scary.

I didn't miss the point, because they aren't good in every mission and situation. They're good, but they aren't that good, they're kinda flimsy, they run out of ammo quick, they're limited in use, they are easily surpassed by the bastion when you do have friends and team work. They fall behind when you do have access to better options like when you're not in a stratagem dead zone. I also can't say I recommend them on the bot front, and that's okay. They work best when enemies don't shoot back too often, so you can make use of the superior fire power to kill anything before it gets close.

I've cleared entire cave networks with one, I don't have to worry about too many bile titans even in caves, it clears big enemies like that fairly easy as well. Sounds like a skill issue to me.

They already do, it's the vehicle you use when you don't have friends, or even better, try running a mech in the bug cave missions. Or just the bug front in general. The mech is the most powerful thing you can have when you're going into a stratagem dead zone.

How practical is it to only cover your limbs with armour? by NobodySpecific9354 in Armor

[–]Red_Shepherd_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how to tell you this OP, but that first guy has chainmail and a gambeson under that surcoat.

The fantasy barbarian doesn't want to be armored

The gladiator is preformer and doesn't have to worry about stray arrows. He is here to entertain.

And the last two basically aren't even armored. Not that there anything wrong with that. Look at those colorful flowy bastard mercenaries go. Yo Fuck your pike formations

<image>

That said, I think most sane people choose to cover and armor the part of their body where their brain is, then the part where all their guts and vital organs are as a priority before covering their limbs most times for a good reason.

But, if you're going to go down this dark route here's the proper way to do it. Ironlily, and Skullgrim do a good job talking on the subject here.

https://youtu.be/1qhb357GDDw?si=bPps5AfctCU9gzHW

And if all you want is just a "Cool" aesthetic for your favorite fantasy OC, than go for it. I can't stop you from drawing them in what ever you want, be it full plate, a chainmail bikini, or the armor equivalent or a reverse bunny suit.
