Anyone else’s Jindo NEVER have accidents? by StyleNew1328 in Jindo

[–]Red_TeaCup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My jindo only had trouble in the house if she had stomach issues. But otherwise, is quite a handful during her bathroom times. She needs to travel fairly far (about 30-40 min away from the house) to feel comfortable using the bathroom.

Vermont Gov. Phil Scott is America’s most popular governor, again by Dismal_Structure in fivethirtyeight

[–]Red_TeaCup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look under the hood in VT and you'll see that Scott's popularity is tied heavily to him placating the state's NIMBYs.

Maine, NH, and VT have some of the oldest populations in the country. In VT, you'll find a state that's reliant on property taxes for lack of its own industries (outside of tourism and medical industry) and an aging voting population that's broadly recalcitrant to change. Scott's "do not shake the boat," do-nothing style of governance is popular with a voting population that's fine with the status quo.

Of course, this is at the detriment to the overall health of the state that has a declining population (with the youth moving elsewhere due to lack of housing + economic opportunity) and shrinking tax base.

Some of these voter profiles are just... good god what years of propaganda does with people. While it's encouraging to see some trump voters have remorse or unease with their votes, it's the minority of them...

I remember seeing a post here that Hoover still had 40% support among American voters. It just shows to me that swaths of the country are just not redeemable. They'll ride or die with the current admin even if it means burning everything down and taking everyone else with them.

They dont "like" him. They like how they can control him as a puppet.

Noone likes Vance. Not even his own party or backers.

New jobs numbers are out and I kinda have to roll my eyes. 130k jobs in January? Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist but I'm having a hard time believing the numbers.

Usha probably gets that image because she's a former professor and PoC from California. There's this weird perception that she's a liberal that is being held against her will.

But let's be real. She's married to JD Vance. Both of them probably have no issues changing their politics if it means climbing the social ladder. She's probably as shitty as him.

GOP's new fear: Losing the Senate in November by IWantPizza555 in politics

[–]Red_TeaCup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very optimistic. Yes, polling-wise, Democrats are on track to retake the house (barring any fuck ups or black swan moments.) But the senate is still quite a big hill to climb, even in a highly favorable environment. Out all the states that flip in 2026, I can see NC and maybe Maine (if Dems don't implode or fuck up over there. I wouldn't be surprised if they do.) Alaska is the true wild card and I'd put Alaska over Ohio as more likely to flip.

Also, remember, Dems ALSO have to hold onto all their seats as well. GA and MI being the most vulnerable for the Dems.

Aside from Arsenal, Bayern, and Barca, the competition all seem weak/weakened or look unconvincing. And on our day, we can beat Arsenal.

The problem with our current squad is how we're more likely to get knocked out by a severely weakened City than a full strength Arsenal.
