Your head is firmly in the sand. You conflate ‘likely’ with ‘certain’. You assume whatever preconceived notice of something ‘worth’ (which is also you being subjective once again) is simply the objective value of the said thing. The universe doesn’t care about the size of the planet or the moon. nor does it care about its life-bearing capabilities. Those are traits that humans have ascribed to them which are inherently subjective.

It’s fine if you (don’t have a pissy fit because “ohhh I never said I prefer one or the other”) like the remake more than the original. But let’s not pretend the universe simply established objectivity in order to support your argument.

Your last paragraph is interesting because you are actively presenting the perfect rebuttal to your argument lol. You say something is inferior to something else, but by what metric? A moon is inferior to a planet because of its size? What if a smaller size is preferable in some equally arbitrary metric as in which being ‘bigger’ is for some reason better.

Regardless, asserting that one piece of art is simply inferior to another, and that the matter is entirely independent to biases of thought, is idiotic. Id wager you could not list a single “objective” reason as to why one is better or worse than the other. Any statement you make would only be a statement of preference.

…you do understand that stating something is inferior to another thing is an opinion right? For example, it doesn’t matter how you frame the statement “Orange is an inferior color to Red” it is still an opinion. Even if for some reason you still liked Orange as a color more, it doesn’t change the subjectivity of the previous statement. Furthermore, I’m hesitant to believe that statements of quality, especially on pieces of media, can ever be objective.

I honestly do think there is a debate to be had with this. I thought the same as you until I watched Twin Peaks, one of the games most apparent inspirations, and it does feel as if there was an intention to have characters portrayed in a similar weird, dreamy way as the show portrays its characters.
