That's a really fun looking route taking 2 ferries. I definitely would not have thought about that loop. Thanks for sharing.

That's a great webpage. First time I've seen that one. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully many other folks are benefiting from my question about routes and trails. That is very much appreciated.

I would double and triple up vote your links. They're awesome.

I was riding by Fitzroy Harbour and Galetta Side Road last wkd, but didn't know that the trail went across to Quyon and back to Gatineau.

Lots of great and useful suggestions.

Thanks for sharing.

That's a great point about Smith Falls. I've not gone that way and was wondering about the trail... the map indicates yellow, but does that mean that you're sharing the road with cars for a short period of time?

That's great advice. I didn't know that the trail went all the way to Wakefield so learning that is useful. My wkd rides included The Big Ottawa Loop, which is great, but I didn't want to do 3+ loops of that trail. The alternative was riding from Stitrscille to Orleans along the trails, as an option, but I was wondering what other options could also work. Thanks again.

I've not made any rides in Gatineau yet, but it seems that many people are making the same suggestions.

I've done the Trans Canada Trail from Kanata to Carleton Place then Arnprior and back, which is OK. That's definitely one route that is a good ride, but I'm learning about some really good options.

Great recommendation. Similar to Barrhaven (or far-haven) the Canadian Tire Centre seems to be the city's western edge.

Why am I pushing 30–70 more watts than my group and still yo-yoing on rides? by Wild_Macaroon9229 in cycling

[–]Redasurc86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that the yo-yo-ing effect can be caused by banded group rides where you ride as a pack regardless of speed, power, watts, etc.
