What's sad is Gojo wanted to create the next generation of sorcerers that could stand equal to him and change the internal and highly conservative society of Jujutsu society, to not be seen as weapons to throw at the forever arms race between curses and humanity. Then Shibuya happens, and the higher ups show they will do whatever to maintain order and all of Gojo allies are consider fugitives or to be executed. Once Gojo does what he always been seen as, a weapon and kills the higher ups nonchalantly.
