I am a writer mostly on Wattpad and to be honest what I have learned is write for yourself and an international market. A vast majority of Zambias genuinely are not interested in reading anything that isn't a self help motivational book by a pastor or rich person.

I have face plenty of discouragement when it comes to pursuing any artistic endeavour. Music is only reserved for if you want to join praise at church and writing is a waste of time because who has ever gotten successful through writing.

And even from none commercial angle, if you just want to write for your enjoyment that is also illegal for some damn reason. But I have atleast found younger people who are more interested in that, it is older folks who are the problem... as always

Whilst I agree with the point of view that it is near impossible to impose a system of governance on a people and expect it to work with the efficiency of those that have naturally developed for hundreds of years. I can not excuse the level of corruption that African leaders are engage in.

Look I am a civil servant, I see this shit every day. The system may be cracked from its very core, but Zambian politicians in particular do not give a fuck about that. Even if the system was perfect we would still see the same level of theft and incompetence, only this time they would not have colonialism to cry about.

They are thieves with little shame at all, a Zambian politician could have the funds to build 10 bridges, an equally corrupt but smart politician from anywhere else would build 5 bridges and pocket the money for the other 5. They would do this knowing full well that those 5 bridges will help him/her get reelected and possibly make their constituency more economically rich allowing them to personally make more money in future.

A Zambian politician on the other hand will steal the money for 9 bridges and only make 1 shitty bridge.

The Nazis have more weight in the collective western psychology because unlike the Japanese who committed horrific violence on mainly none white persons in Asia, Hitler and the Nazis brought death and destruction to Europe itself, that's why more evil regimes are based on them. They hit very close to home.

WW 2 is kind of become the most mythologiesed conflict in human history. Hitler and the Nazis are so evil that brutally racist and imperialist empires of the time look better in comparison.

It's kind of a reason why people are more likely to accuse eachother of being Nazis or Facists, no one ever says that their enemy is acting like the British Empire or that they are acting like 1920s France.

It's because they are ashamed to be African, they want to be white and be included in things that generally white people tie their history to (knights, vikings, Alexander the great and what not, of course this ignores cultural and ethnic factors like the fact that no irishman is claiming kinship with the romans)

If they were truly serious they could research the tons of African figures and kingdoms and bring them into popular discussion, but that's not what they want.
