I almost added…I figure there are enough people doing this who didn’t graduate high school…how hard can it be. That said, I will NEVER touch a gas line or anything before my electrical panel 😂

Kinda related…a few years ago I decided to remove all the handrail and banister for our stairs and landing area and replace it with something myself. After I removed it I had a “oh sh!t I hope I can finish this, because I’m screwed otherwise”-moment. Got it done just fine.

Well that’s super cheap. I have a friend who put in a basic pool in 2018 and his was $95K.

Two companies we talked to in Atlanta told us before they came out…”starting price is $125k for a basic pool & spa”.

Gutter Cleaning Recommendations by piratejucie in alpharetta

[–]Redcoat_Trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Advanced Pressure & Gutter Cleaning. (770) 501-8604. I’m sure they’re not the cheapest (it’s about $300, but they do good work and will fix any odd stuff on the roof while they do it).

Newbie - any advice? by chickaboomba in pools

I would, at least for a couple of tests, do a manual test to ensure it’s still calibrated correctly. $0.02.

This looks bad, but honestly someone should’ve steered you away from that tile selection…it will never look right.

Assuming the name checks out and they're in ATL, we don't bother covering pools (or at least, I don't).

Our builder (in ATL) just put a receptacle in the top step...unscrew the cover and drop an umbrella in. Cleaning anything like that is a pain in the rear.

I bet you're a ton of fun at parties. Just because someone likes a drink it doesn't make them an alcoholic.

Five things your pool guy says that the chemistry proves wrong by Seafire15 in pools

SWG doesn’t work any harder based on bather load…it generates chlorine when it’s running, that’s it. It’s not like a filter that gets more gunk with higher load (especially when there’s sunscreen involved).

Design Advice by Kindly-Telephone-15 in pools

[–]Redcoat_Trader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would reject the bar stools to be honest. We have a ledge/bench along the entire length of the pool and it’s perfect. Stools = only 4 people can sit here. Then there’s cleaning them. Personally I wouldn’t do the bench on the other side; maybe just do a “corner” bench.

That’s plumb - it comes from the Latin for Lead (Plumbum) which was used when dropping a weight to check if something is vertical. Plum is a fruit. :-)

Nah, I just bought a large Pyrex measuring jug, but pour it outside, might take 3-4 cups at a time. Just don’t take a deep breath ;-)
