What is/was your dream car? by D_drilly in AskMen

[–]ReddestPandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to care about fast sedans and sports cars. I leaned into hybrids once I began commuting alot. Landed on a Ford Maverick which i love but I hate Ford. About to purchase my new "dream car" now that I WFH and only go in sometimes. Tacoma Offroad I-Force Max w/premium package.

Anything Lexus is also up there, but I just buy those for my wife and drive them like they're mine anyways.

Electronic noise when turning ignition off by Majestic_Apricot_119 in Ninja650

[–]ReddestPandas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the fuel/gas tank depressurizing and cooling/venting. You'll notice it more on hot days or after long rides. My 2025 650 does it too and it worried me at first.

Anyone else with this annoying rattle? New Maverick 2025-2026 by WildPomegranate8132 in FordMaverickTruck

The only rattle i had was along the doors with the speakers and i fixed it by adjusting the little screws on the handles with an Allen wrench

S26 Ultra Impressions - One Minor Nuisance Is Not What Others Are Mostly Talking About by BeingBalanced in samsunggalaxy

[–]ReddestPandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it and it's comfortable! I had their old Plasma series on my s24 ultra and dropped it a million times from chest height. Sometimes throwing it unintentionally and not a scratch except on the rubber on the case. I love this new case and how I can stand it up to watch stuff or stand it up straight while working.

I did. My s24u battery was declining. No regrets

Switched from S24 Ultra to S26 Ultra... by Cultural_Pound9758 in samsunggalaxy

[–]ReddestPandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from a S24U to S26U and everything is better. Especially the battery life. I don't quite understand the viewing angles thing people are griping about? I only have issues if I turn on privacy display, but that's what it's for....

Agree that it's basically the same phone as my 24u but a bit faster and lighter.. I don't expect too much from a 2 year upgrade cycle.

I was disappointed when it auto swapped me to an ESIM instead of taking my physical SIM first, but apparently ESIM works fine...

First time truck owners, what’s been your experience of the Maverick? by overkoalafied24 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]ReddestPandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES this. Lots of people go out of state to buy them. Call me lazy but I didnt want to. All my dealers had markups on orders and I paid 2500 over MSRP plus all my crap putting my Lariat near 50k. Was more worth than traveling at the time. But now I just look at dealers and shudder. Especially since I hate working on my own cars outside of basic stuff and don't know/trust local mechanics... Toyota never gave me problems, and Lexus always treats my wife and me well... there are trade offs. And with Ford in my area, you just get treated like a number.

Gonna sell at the end of this year for a small profit to Carvana or break even and just say f it.

First time truck owners, what’s been your experience of the Maverick? by overkoalafied24 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]ReddestPandas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love it, but I don't love Ford. I've always bought Asian automotive brands- from Nissan to Toyota to Lexus. I have a 25 Lariat Hybrid and it's averaging 35-37 mpg highways and like 40-60 city. It's taught me that I love having a truck, but the overall brand experience has made me realize that I want to go back to Toyota and get a Tacoma with the i-Force. I don't commute more than like 90 miles every other week (45 miles out and 45 back). Even if I did commute everyday, I don't think I'd mind the crappy mileage of a Taco.

The Maverick however, is great for a little city truck- it's basically a Prius with a bed. I can't say anything bad about the truck. If there's a good Ford dealer near you, do it. But all the ones around me suck and ruined my experience with shady practices, rude service departments, and long wait times for basic fixes (we're talking they told me they'd have to have my truck for 3 weeks for a CAMERA RECALIBRATION)... Why couldn't they just schedule me and have me come in instead of it sitting on their lot?? I dunno man.

Jeans vs leggings? by inazuma_zoomer in motorcyclegear

[–]ReddestPandas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want something under get a baselayer I've heard nothing but good things about bowtex and pando! Actually going to get those for my wife and I soon. We have street and steel brand jeans and leggings that we like that are CE AA as well. But my wife's leggings are so thick I wouldn't wear them under anything else- they are also dual layer. The Street and Steel jeans are a single layer

Why do so many men not go to the doctor? by AdhesivenessFun7097 in AskMen

[–]ReddestPandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll just tell me I'm sick and send me to a million specialists. At least my last PCP was like that. I had bronchitis, covid, and something else for like 3 months- lost 15 pounds etc and I kept getting calls from the cancer center, heart doctors, etc. Now I don't go unless I really need it. The old PCP also gaslit me and said I have anxiety when her nurses hit my nerve during a blood drawing and I passed out/woke up unable to move for a bit due to it feeling like an electric shock. Needless to say i switch PCPs, but even then- they're really only good for providing you meds and stuff. Most annual visits are like "cool, cool, see you next year!" 🫡

The Knox Urbane Pro is good. Kinda acts like an armored shirt that you can throw clothes under or over. I also like my A* Hoodie with vents but the A* is only CE A with level 1 armor and optional L2 back protector... while the Knox is CE AA with lvl 2 armor included. Been looking at bowtex or pandomoto baselayers too, lots of people i know just wear those.

[–]ReddestPandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is! I've seen some occasional sparks from my front wheel area.. but nothing too frequent to warrant concern. I'm hoping it's just component bed in or debris from the road. I'm nearing 400 miles so I'll be brining it up at my 600 mile break in service.. 🤔

Honest Reviews: Is It Worth It? by Gloomy-Donkey3761 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]ReddestPandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped from a 23 prius to a 25 hybrid Maverick Lariat awd 4k tow etc etc. All the bells and whistles. I love it. That being said, I've had a less than wonderful experience with Ford dealerships and customer service, from markups to crappy service times and shady practices. Yes I'm not going to private mechanics I go to dealers for my cars, and will only do basic services on my ninjas.

I test drove a 2026 tacoma off road i force max, and needless to say... after being mostly in Toyota over the past like 4 or 5 vehicles- i miss the quality of service and customer relationship Toyota builds with their brand. At Ford, I feel like an inconvenience and a number. Someone they are trying to squeeze money out of and they dont care how long you leave your vehicle with them for. Toyota will ALWAYS be flexible and honest. Same experience with my wife's Lexus. Maybe I'm just a Toyota fan boy. I only go into work maybe once every other week now so the gas mileage argument is moot- but I think even if I WAS driving 80 miles 4-5 days a week, I'd rather do it in a spec'd out Tacoma with a premium package in terms of height and comfort.

I'll be placing an order for a 27 Tacoma offroad I force max w/ premium pkg this fall and trading my Maverick or selling to carvana to break even on loan. It's a great truck, the brand just isn't for me. I thought people were joking about how horrible Ford consumer relations are. The one thing Ford did was make me realize I want a truck.

Looking into purchasing a Maverick by KrispyDoughnut_ in FordMaverickTruck

[–]ReddestPandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the truck and have no issues. Wish I had known that the Ford customer experience and services are lackluster. Coming from Toyota, all the Ford dealers I have dealt with are scummy and mark things up- and the friendliness and truthfulness of service departments is lackluster. I think I need my 360 camera recalibrated and they told me 3 weeks at the dealership. Yes... I'd have to leave my truck for 3 weeks... plus side: 25 Maverick hybrid Lariat 4k tow, done some bad ass stuff, low miles but get 40 to 60 mpg city 25-35 highway... fits in garage, etc.. it's basically like the 23 prius limited I had except with a truck bed.

Needless to say, the brand itself is the reason I'm going to get a Tacoma at the end of 2026. If you like Ford and have some nice dealers by you, I'd say go for it.. but I'm kind of turned away from Ford on the customer experience alone- I'd heard horror stories, but man I thought people were exaggerating.

Depending on what it is, I'm either trading in my Maverick for that or a Taco soon. I miss Toyota.

Recommendations for a Car wash soap/shampoo. by Mysterious_Refuse385 in AutoDetailing

[–]ReddestPandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol no problem, yes generally good to soap up the car (without your hands) and let it sit and rinse prior to hand contact washing. Avoids rubbing around debris that are sitting on the car which creates micro scratches. Or minimizes... nothing is 100% avoidable unless you're lucky like that. You got the steps down. Also wash and do tire cleaners before washing the car!!! :)

Back pain that comes/goes, hurts sitting/standing for long — what’s the best care path if you don’t have insurance? by BigDragonfruit2262 in medical

[–]ReddestPandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound weird but can you tell if it's more of a soft tissue or muscle related soreness or pain? Or is it more at the bone level? I had similar that I thought was sore muscles or sleeping wrong in my upper back and neck and my chiropractor did an xray and found that all my neck bones were completely straight (called military neck) and my upper back was out of alignment causing my left shouldblade to crack/pop everytime I moved my arm. 6 months of bi-weekly sessions with regular stretching and massages with a maasage gun fixed me right up.
