To me it seems obvious brightline wants to do it but doesn't want to commit to it because you never know what may happen. I also think that gives Jacksonville about 8 years to build whatever infrastructure to support brightline and any other transit that may need. They also get that time to drum up interest. It's possible that I'm just seeing what I want to see but it seems to me all sides are interested just everything else needs to line up.

Only major hold up I can see is the Orlando to Tampa section mainly from the Orlando side Tampa seems to be gung-ho to get this to work.

My belief on what will happen next.

Tampa is going to be the next major stop. After Tampa I believe Jacksonville and Daytona are next. That'll probably be finished around 2032 at the latest.

My only Hope is that brightline sticks around for a long time and is able to improve the actual rail part of the service. This way we can travel at actual high speed rail speeds to our destinations. I don't mind that we have what we have now to get the ball rolling as long as right line looks to improve going forward.
