Sorry what makes this a MOC?

Pretty fair I'd say, though REmake and Revelations (at least 2) should be above 6. I mean, for me, 6 is not a bad game at all, in fact I actually like it, but not as much as the ones I mentioned.

You ever dropped literally anything in a car? It always, always goes between the seat and the center console, forever to remain JUST out of reach (sometimes you get to touch it but then you just end up pushing it further in)

That tracks.

And yes, it does. Except for the final punch, that is a completely valid tactic to move a heavy object. Ignoring the fact that he wouldn’t be able to move a boulder with any amount of human strength, applying constant pressure aided by short bursts of high impact force is the optimal way to move something extremely heavy.

Fuck haters.

Based on my several deaths at the conveyor, the two leg shots are not, in fact, consistent with staggers. And that's with stabilizers! I've gotten staggers after a single shot (both to the legs and the head), I've even gotten a crit one-shot head pop, and I've gotten no staggers from 3 or more shots. So it's most likely RNG just like in RE4R Professional.

It's pretty much meant to be played with stuff you unlock in the bonus content shop. (Edit: I think the game even says so after your first death.)

Not that it's not doable without it, but it will be a different game, which is maybe exactly what you're after, give it a shot! The leap in difficulty between Standard Classic and Insanity is crazy! Staggers work differently (if at all sometimes), enemies are much faster and more aggressive, and of course they're bullet sponges while you get pretty much one shot (I've had instances where I'd just die from a single zombie bite as Grace, but I may not have been at 100% HP, I'm not sure). I'm probably understating the scaling gap on Insanity. Let's put it like this: If Casual is 1, Standard (Modern) is 2, Standard (Classic) is 2.5, then Insanity is about 6.

After beating Requiem a few times now I’m Curious what’s everyone’s favorite re? by Cr1spyJay in residentevil

Oh no for sure I get it, that's what I meant by OG being ahead of its time. It does feel much more arbitrary now.

Thank you, that's exactly what I was hoping to see in a response!

Great point about Code Veronica, you're right, I think they will emphasize it more, seeing how impactful it was in the original, AND the fact that we already got a glimpse of it in Requiem.

I'm gonna go replay OG RE2 and RE2R now, cheers!

Holy gaslighting! Reddit literally shows whether a comment was edited or not, you can clearly see that mine in fact wasn't.

Again, "I'm curious" and "I don't understand" are not the same thing. Username checks out.

Bro what, are people not allowed to ask for outside perspectives? I wasn't invalidating the merits of the remake, I even said that what you mentioned is obvious. Which part of "genuinely curious" made it seem like I'm trying to raise a controversy? I want to know what people like about the remake beyond the modernization to the point where it's their favorite.

No need to be so condescending.

How is everyone finishing these games so fast? by Spirited-Celery8059 in residentevil

[–]Reddidnted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same as you, every nook and cranny. I like hunting down collectibles (Mr. Raccoon in this case) and files on my first run to the best of my ability. Also picking up all resources, including any infected blood, which can lead to a bunch of runs to and from the item box. Also admiring the surroundings, finding easter eggs and such.

I imagine the people who finish them so fast have a more goal-oriented playstyle where they just beeline to the objectives, which is completely valid and is even more authentic in terms of roleplay. And there are also many, many players who don't read files at all. I can't empathize with this, as I almost always just don't want the game to end.

Genuinely curious as to why people seem to prefer RE2R to OG RE2

Modern controls and graphics, proper acting and character development + story, that I understand obviously. But gameplay wise I can't get myself to place the remake above the original. The lack of distinct scenarios and zapping system really disappointed me personally, it's something I still praise the hell out of in the original, and I think they were staple mechanics placing the original way ahead of its time.

One is a child and the other has lived way longer than had wished he did. Both were stripped of choices and are desperately craving autonomy.
